This show is awsome I can,t wait to see more of the flash

Haven't watched the aired pilot yet, nor have I read the entire thread, but, by chance, does anyone know what the additional 3 minutes consisted of?

Thanls

The only differences between the aired and the leaked is the aired has some improved vfx, a couple extra seconds added to Flash running around Weather Wizard, a couple lines are removed from the rooftop scene between Barry and Ollie, and a line between Chyre and Det. West got cut. Might be a few other little things, felt like some scenes maybe had a second or so added, but nothing noteworthy was changed.

Did anybody else notice that the newspaper from 2024 mentions a Wayne Tech and Queen Inc. merger. So Bruce Wayne exists in this universe. Kind of cool.

Hahaha well, I know I'm probably alone in this, but I like that movie. The only Star Trek movie with the original cast that I absolutely HATE is the first one.

Yeah. ST: The Motion Picture is so freaking boring and slow paced. Glad Meyer stepped it up with WOK in the 2nd film.

That's what they said when making MOS, but things change all the time, and so can ideas/stoylines. For years, Nolan said there would never be a Robin in his Batman movies, and low and behold, we got a horrible one in TDKR.

"Horrible" huh?

In your "opinion" :whatever:

IMO..this Flash pilot was awesome. Well done by Berlanti and Johns!

Was Steven Amell listed as a guest star in the credits at the start? I don't remember now because it was a surprise when he popped up. Grant Gustin was definitely listed in Arrow's credits.

And its a play on crisis too, the worlds merged into Earth Prime.

There were some snips and extensions here and there, nothing major. It just ran a little long and they added a "this season" trailer that bumped it up another minute or so.

This is exactly why it's a great decision to keep the DCCU and the DCTVU separate... for now.

Since "Crisis" is referenced in the 1st episode and is 10 years away, it seems very interesting to me that the showrunners have already have mentioned "Flashpoint". Seems to me there's going to be some temporal displacement happening quite a bit.

It might be logical to do "Flashpoint" before "Crisis", and Barry knows Bruce is Batman but he doesn't know how he knows it.

Barry's emotional arc in "Flashpoint" can easily stand on it's own, but....

***Spoiler***

Seeing Thomas Wayne in a Batsuit, and Barry giving Bruce that letter is bone-crushing given what Barry gave up. It's so... him.

We don't even need to see Bruce, just the tear.

I love Geoff Johns.

Loved it. Great action, characters and VFX.

Love the crossovers and the few Easter Eggs.

Is Iron Heights the same prison featured in Arrow?

Is the waitress who dropped her tray (Tracy, I think?!?) someone of note in the Flash/DC Universe? I just got the feeling that we were meant to take notice of her for some reason.

Finally saw the pilot and I loved the hell out of it. Grant is so darn likable.

No, I think they were just focusing on Barry seeing it all happen in slow motion.

So am I the only one who noticed/cared that Layla from Sky High is in this? Because I really do think that's kind of awesome.

Oh, and the pilot was good too, I guess.

Well, a company called Wayne Tech exists in 2024. That may or may not mean that Bruce Wayne exists. Maybe it's a hockey equipment company founded by Wayne Gretzky. :woot:

Yeah, I think it might be the same.

I don't think she's important, the camera was on her to show Barry seeing her drop the plates in slo-mo.

Oh, and the pilot was good too, I guess.

But she's already been in Arrow as the same character, so no one is really noticing anymore.

And I know her from Shark.

That's what I figure.

What about the writing did you not like? I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.
It came across as cliched and a bit lazy. It also led to some pretty awkward and unnatural deliveries by otherwise competent actors. A lot of it felt forced.

It also introduced plot elements in a way that felt a bit awkward. I was reminded of the scene in Goldmember when Dixie Normous talked about being a sexy single mother (or some such nonsense). The only difference is that THAT was intentionally awkward.

THAT. WAS. AWESOME.

Loved it. Instantly hooked unlike being on the verge of dropping Gotham.
Don't know if I like Barry having to work for Iris. Aren't they 'soul mates' in the comics?
