A bit disappointing how they took care of Girder. How did he not just pulverize Blackout? Heck, he should have been dizzy from the first punch he got, and then gotten his head stomped into the ground. And we went from potentially having 3 Metahumans in the prison, to only 1, because the other 2 died.

Fantastic episode. This is the definitive portrayal of a superhero for me.
I still think Eddie is Prof Zoom. Wells is anyone's guess though.

Alright episode. Both villains were better than usual. I really enjoyed seeing the Clock King again. Haven't gone through the entire thread yet, but I'm sure others have already pointed out everything I didn't like about the episode.

If wells can stand up, why the heck does he need a wheel chair?

I assume it's part of his cover, to seem less threatening to people. Maybe he uses it o prevent people from completely hating him after the particle accelerator blew up. He didn't get out of this scot-free, after all; others may have died, but he ended up in a wheelchair.

Anyway, this is, for me, the second excellent episode in a row. This show is really growing on me. I loved the two villain subplots occurring side-by-side just because it's nice to break the formula and get some plot complexity. Robert Knepper was unrecognizable as the Clock King, who was wonderful aside from his constant time quotes. Two metahuman villains duking it out was delightful. High Eddie was hilarious. Finally, we got hints of a rupture between Barry and Dr. Wells. I've been waiting for that. I suspect we'll see more of it in the future. I'm also curious to see what Wells is going to do with Farooq's blood.

The only things I didn't like were how easily a whole police station were cowed by one man with a gun and how the metahumans are treated in STAR labs. Cisco, Caitlin, and Barry really ought to be complaining about how they're all confined to one room with no amenities.

Also, does anyone else feel like they're prepping for a potential Caitlin and Barry romance? Honestly, I feel like Barry and Caitlin are like the equivalent of Harry Potter and Hermoine....there's chemistry there, but there doesn't seem to be a current intent on pushing it forward.

Seems it is going that way, staple for CW shows. That is why I prefer Cisco, at least we know that he won't be involved in any shipper storylines. lol

:hehe:
Definitely agreed to this point.
They had plenty of chances to shoot him in the head.

He needs to finally be part of the Suicide Squad.

I thought it was a solid episode. It certainly had a better version of Electro than ASM2 did and was able to accomplish alot of the same storybeats in a much more effective way in a less than an hour than the two hour film did.

LOL yeah... Smallville's obsession with the Ashmore brothers was weird. They had one of them play the ice man guy, one play Jimmy Olsen, and then the same one play Jimmy Olsen's younger brother, ALSO named Jimmy.

Nope not Iceman, Aarons brother (Shawn) was the guy who stole Clark's powers by the use of a lightning strike.

Another great episode again. Really enjoying this show.

Is it bad that I want to see a Rogues team consisting of Captain Cold, Heat Wave, and Clock King go head to head with a Suicide Squad using Boomerang and Deathstroke, with the Wall in the field?

Part of me just wants to see the show have a Prison Break vs Spartacus fight scene.

As I don't watch Arrow, i'm not as hyped about next week as everyone else.

You don't like Arrow? IMO, is a better show, it has more interesting characters. Starting with the leads, Oliver is more complex, has more sides to him, while Barry is a little too whiny, softy... Then Felicity and Diggle are also better characters than Caitlin and Cisco, even Season 1 Laurel was more interesting than this Iris. Maybe the crossover will change your mind.

When you think of it, the only really complex character they have is Harrison Wells, he's more interesting than all the others combined. The best shows have more than one interesting character.

Yeah, this is a pretty ****** behaviour on both, Iris' and Barry's part. I really don't like the idea that this could be the reason for Eddie to become the RF, though. I feel kinda sorry for him that way. :csad:

Well, Slade hates Oliver because of Shado, so get ready just in case they repeat the same crap here. The shows have similar flaws since they're run by the same producers.

Also, how easily it was for Farooq to hit Barry when he took his powers. Is just lazy writing how they keep making Barry very conveniently slow so the freak of the week can hit him. They have to be more creative, they're getting away with it because is a new show, but sooner or later people will get tired of it. Hopefully, they will do a better job in the movies.

And this:

At this point, the whole "woman falls in love with superhero she's reporting on/blogging about" is pretty passé, and the way that Barry is going about this by flirting with her as the Flash since he can't do it as Barry Allen... well, it's not really creepy, but it's certainly a little manipulative in that it can feel like he's trying to encourage her to fall for the Flash so he can be with her at least in some fashion. It's just another instance of how I'm not crazy about how The Flash is writing and using Iris.

That's very annoying too and makes Iris kind of shallow... very CWish crappy drama.

Another solid episode of The Flash. I really liked the tension in the episode and the villain was more 3 dimensional than the other ones we've seen thus far. Surely this can't be the end of Girder right? I gotta give the writers credit, I just cannot figure out Dr. Wells. I literally have no idea what his intentions are or what his plan could be. The only thing that seems clear is he's intent on preserving Barry's safety....but for what goal?

Solid episode. Although the whole hero losing his powers thing is cliche, I thought it was handled well. Also, great seeing Clock King again (seriously, the writers of this show and Arrow, and of course Kneppar, deserve a big high five for somehow managing to make that character cool). But I do agree that it was WAY too easy for him to take over that police station. He didn't even really have a hostage through most of it. And Eddie only got shot in the arm... Why did everyone act like he was dying?

Anyway, loved the name dropping at the end. I caught Ralph Dibney and Grant Emerson. Were the other ones other DC characters?

I hope this means we'll eventually see Damage show up. That girl from a couple weeks ago basically had his powers (and I think they referred to her as the Human Bomb, who was the original Damage).

It seems like he's interested in finding a way to alter the future so that the (current) future news article of the Flash missing in 2024 will change into something else; albeit a future where the Flash isn't missing in action.

I think he's got a bit of a Zolomon thing going on atm, trying to make Barry a better hero so he'll survive Crisis, and he's willing to do terrible things to accomplish that goal. Not saying he's Zoom/Reverse Flash, just comparing motives.

One has to wonder why it's so important to Wells that Barry survives, so much so, that he's willing to commit cold blooded murder. One minute it seems he's really genuinely worried about Barry's well being, and the next he's stabbing someone to death, something Barry would be horrified over.
I'm confused. (which it seems is Berlanti's intent)

Like how Killer just said; I think it may just be about Wells resorting to some extreme means towards ensuring that Barry ends up surviving the events of the Crisis, that seemingly take place 10 years from now, while becoming a better hero in the process..and he's willing to go through any means towards accomplishing his goal.

On another note, did anyone else spot the plane that our first Weather Wizard was on, during the events of the Pilot, in the opening shot of this episode (where we see the villain's POV of the particle accelerator exploding). You can tell that it's his due to it being the same model and it exploding in the air when its hit by the beam.

Maybe he wants Barry to reach the speed of light so he can time travel and save his wife Tess, or take his powers then and do it himself.

Nice seeing CLOCK KING again.
Love those GROOVY glasses he wore. I want a pair.
