I could not disagree more. Part 6 is the best of the movies post Final Chapter, but that's not saying much.

Fans are divided on the ninth installment of the Friday the 13th franchise, 1993s Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday. It takes some interesting risks and expands the series mythology, yet it hardly features the Jason Voorhees fans know and love.
The upcoming documentary The Dark Heart of Jason Voorhees: The Making of the Final Friday will provide an in-depth look at the misunderstood film. Its directed by Nick Hunt and produced by Jason Goes to Hell director Adam Marcus.
As the film is still in production, interview subjects have not yet been revealed. Aside from Marcus, the synopsis below promises genre greats, both who were in the film and not.
Through interviews and behind the scenes details, you will understand the unique landscape the series was in at the time, having just changed studios and already being on the road to the eventual Freddy vs. Jason film which wouldnt see release for another 8 years. You will see the unusual hand Adam Marcus was dealt and the immense pressure and scrutiny which was placed on him during production. And you will see genre greats, both who were in the film and not, weigh in on Jasons journey to hell.
In Jason Goes to Hell, you learned secrets about Jason you never knew before! In The Dark Heart of Jason Voorhees, you will understand what was and what could have been about The Final Friday!
Jason X at least has some campy entertainment value, and they tried some new stuff. Also sexy android wearing tight leather body suit while literally shooting Jason to pieces. That will never not be fun.
And the remake, having rewatched it recently, still holds up well imo.
JGTH has, the opening scene and Creighton Duke, but that's about all it has going for it.
Have only seen the first movie, and then was when I was 12 or 13-- I remember finding it boring. But, it's on TV tonight, and the rest of the series over the course of the next week. Will check them out and see if it grabs me, but I'm not a big horror guy.
EDIT: Oh wait, I saw the reboot one with the guy from Supernatural on TV a few years ago. That was... exactly what I expected, I guess.
