So Telltale's The Walking Dead game is actually pretty awesome. It seems like they took a page from BioWare's book because a lot of the game is dialogue-based and choice-centric. You can choose to save one character or another at various points, you can choose how much to reveal about yourself to those around you, and it all informs how the game goes from that point on. Granted, it's far more limited in scope than anything BioWare's done, but that gameplay formula still works. I just finished episode 1 for the first time, but I already know I'm definitely gonna be playing through it again to see how different choices would've played out.

Yeah, Nintendo will be fine. I hate articles like the above because it always brings out your Doom and Gloomers.. Justice when the 3DS came out and was an instant fail for Nintendo.

Oh wait, it's not.

Keep in mind, Nintendo also has like 10 Billion reserved... Maybe more in their banks. They have a nice nest to set on while they figure out and fix their problems. Meanwhile, Sony is taking bigger losses and doesn't have that luxury.

Yeah Nin will be fine, but I am still not sure how well Wii U will sell. Should be interesting to watch. As far as Sony is concerned, Kaz will turn things around. The TV division is the dead weight for them and he seems to be going in the right direction to fix things.

I don't doubt Kaz' ability just used them as an example.

Wanting/hoping for any video game company to fail is dumb, IMHO.

So exactly what games are coming out this fall / winter ? The only game i can think of at the top of my head that I want to get on release day is Halo 4. Maybe Call Of Duty. But those are it

Wow not a lot there that screams for me to get on release day

I wouldn't be so passive about the problems Nintendo and especially Sony are facing. The world economy doesnt look like it's about to explode upwards any time soon. Some of the problems that Sony (and to an extent Nintendo) are having are BIG problems. Theres that whole 'too big to fail' phrase that pops into my head when i read stuff like this. At the end of the day i think Nintendo will be OK, but its not going to happen 'just because they're Nintendo'. Sony on the other hand is in serious trouble. At the rate they are going now, if things dont drastically change, they won't be the same company they are now 8 or 10 yrs down the line, if they're here at all.

Its much more than just having a dead weight TV division. They dont cut that then pop back into the black. There's a lot of stuff they need to alter, vision wise, just to start competing again. Kaz also isn't spotless, the last divisions he ran, lost money. Now he's running everything. Its going to be wicked tough for Sony. They can't just cut divisions, they're going to have to start innovating again, along the lines of Apple, if they want to pull themselves up. Thats much easier said than done.

I like how Nintendo has their first annual loss EVER and people are projecting doom and gloom for them. The 3DS struggled early but with the lower price and expanding game library, it will do fine.

People are pissing on the WiiU before it's even out because it will be "last gen" hardware. Frankly, I don't expect next gen to be defined by raw power. It will be no where near as great a leap as previous generations have been. Rather, I think you're going to see next gen be defined more by things like Kinect, Move, and integrating other services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, basically turning game systems into full blown media devices.

And do not underestimate the impact of consoles blocking used games. If MS and Sony (haven't read anything on Nintendo) do it, they WILL feel it.

Nothing insurmountable for Nintendo. Although I don't think the wii U is going to be a winner.

Sony are in far worse shape though. :csad:

I used the TV division as an example of where they need to address things. He already has a plan together. It's a good read and shows that he has them focused in the right direction. As far as past track record goes, I think he has had way more pluses than minuses. Only time will tell I suppose.

Agreed. With everything.

My pre-order list so far is only MP3, AC3, Gravity Rush, Starhawk, and Bioshock Infinite. I'm sure we will get more Fall/Winter games announced before and at E3 though.

The Fall/Winter games I'm looking forward to are Far Cry 3, Borderlands 2, Assassin's Creed III, Resident Evil 6, Bioshock Infinite, and Metal Gear Rising.

I've still gotta play Bioshock and Bioshock 2 before I can get to Bioshock Infinite. Same with Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Revelations. :o

Infinite doesn't have anything to do with the prior games.

Huzzah! I'll probably still never play it, but at least I can never play it whenever I want.
