Mortal Kombat hasn't been relevant since the 16-bit era.

Wrong. The most recent MK, made the series relevant again. One of the best reboots of this generation
I'd consider it a reboot if it didn't start with Armageddon near Rayden's end and the Rayden from the past has to change the outcome

Its Raiden, with an I!

I was about to say. Wasn't the MK reboot pretty successful?
Yes it is. I think it along with SFIV and MvC3 have been the 3 biggest fighters from this gen. MK was very well recieved and popular when released.

Well, the ones who care (like me) like to know
I don't feel like buying the full edition for PS3, and I don't play PS3 much anyway
Win-Win

That last game is pretty big
Its been as low as $15 at several retailers over the last year (~$16 now on Amazon), but I know you prefer PC gaming so good for you. I cant imagine you finding many people to play online with now though bc its an old title and a fighter on the PC

This reads the name one way, MGS2 reads it another
Who's more accurate

Cost is a bummer, but I'm used to play fighters on my PC since 2005, the keyboard is easier to handle than the gamepad for fighting games in my hands
And I don't give a hoot about playing online

Being a Japanese game, the way it's pronounced in Metal Gear is probably more accurate.

However, "ray-den" in Mortal Kombat could probably be considered accurate in a sense as well, if you think about how it's a Japanese word being filtered through this Americanized martial arts movie aesthetic.

Also, for what it's worth, it used to actually be spelled out as "Rayden" in Mortal Kombat.

guy-den

I haven't heard anyone pronounce it as gay-den since Ninja Gaiden.

Edit: I mean OG Ninja Gaiden.

All the newer Ninja Gaiden games I've heard plenty of people pronounce it Gay-den.

Weird.

Well, I guess it's not that weird. I've never played any of the newer ones, so I rarely talk to people about them.

The thought occurred later

I remember this one, still think of this way when ever the Thunderer's name is mentioned

A ‘Sci-Fi Skyrim’ Was In Development At Obsidian. It Had Time Travel.

BackSpace is a single-player action-RPG set in a scifi space environment with simple elements of time travel. The combat is paced similarly to Skyrim, but slightly faster since there is no concept of blocking. The easiest way to look at it is a mix of Mass Effect, Borderlands, and System Shock 2 for gameplay and setting.

I sincerely hope Obsidian gets to revisit this next gen.

I've not played System Shock 2 but that sounds like it could have been awesome.

Capcom Undergoing Lay-Offs, Senior VP Christian Svensson Steps Down. July 11, 2013 . 11:30am

Capcom is undergoing a staff re-oraganization today, and it has resulted in the resignation of its Senior Vice-President Christian Svensson.

Capcom is undergoing a staff re-oraganization today, and it has resulted in the resignation of its Senior Vice-President Christian Svensson, Polygon reports.

According to Polygon’s report, Svensson stated on Facebook that he volunteered to leave, and that he wasn’t the only one to be let go.

“Over the next few days, I’ll be gathering resumes from as many as I can and will be sending them out to my contacts around the industry to see if there’s a ‘love connection’ to be made,” Svensson wrote.

“I’ve had the opportunity to interface with the best fans any company could ever hope to have,” he continued. “I know that I wasn’t always able to deliver what they wanted, but I promise that I did my best to champion their needs and wants. So thank you to the fans who made my job rewarding, challenging, and, if nothing else, interesting.”

As much as I love Skyrim, the combat...kinda sucks. So really, it's just a sci-fi open world game with time travel. Doesn't sound like anything amazing, especially since time travel can really suck. Now if it was done like Chrono Trigger where you visit a few time periods and they're developed well enough that you actually begin to care about it and the characters you meet, that would have been cool.

Sven was one of the few people fighting the good fight within Capcom. This doesn't paint a pretty picture for Capcom fans.

It's sad to see him resign
But is the pig image needed? :barf:

That's his avatar on Capcom Unity.

Also, what's wrong with pigs?

Ask the dude that wrote the article at siliconera. he mostly thought is was funny since it reminded him of a super market product. Other wise I have no clue why he put it up. oh soapy just cleared that up.

He has a cool sense of humor with him self then.
