The Gaming Lounge: Beyond

yeah GOTG is a great game love the use of licensed music I first played it on game pass then got for PS4 later PS5 gave my PS4 copy to a family member.

The problem with games today is there too much going on, too complicated, too many buttons to press. That’s why I don’t mind the occasional linear game. Just give me fun gameplay and good enemies to shoot. I was having fun with evil west until the game kept breaking on me.

Not really sure where else to post this but some words of encouragement from Fallout creator Tim Cain:

Im Currently playing Captain Tsubasa Rise of New Champions and it reminds me how fun Soccer/Football gaming was back in the day.
Now we pretty much only have EA FC and the EFootball thing...but thats about it.

Back in the day we had tons of games with different styles and focus that did so many different things.
Now we dont have that anymore and even EFootball is pretty lackluster in terms of all kinds of stuff.

But going back to Captain Tsubasa...underrated as it gets.
A bit more Simulation gameplay, taking out a bit of speed and going a slightly more realistic approach on the basics...and it would be even more awesome.

You could do so much with these basics.
You even could have done something like MyTeam or so with this, something like the Smartphone game of Captain Tsubasa does.

Such a huge potential with the IP and core gameplay to do many things.
It made me interested in Soccer/Football games again and that showed me how little we have these days unfortunately.

Jesus. Such a wonderful thing that buyout was. I really think the sentence about studios that are untouched should have a "for now".

The Industry needs a hard reset that starts with getting rid of the suits.
Everything bad about the gaming industry in the last 20 years or so, has been ruined by Suits.
MS paid Billions and then Millions to win a Lawsuit...to buy a company, makes record profit...and then shuts down studios.

At this point, its hard to look forward to new games, new worlds because unless they set sales records...its possible that the games and publishers get shut down.
Its like with Netflix...dont get attached to any show because Netflix will cancel it.

According to financials, the only reason they made a profit is because of Activision.

Microsoft has never been that great with gaming acquisitions so I'm not surprised, but also surprised since I thought Hi Fi Rush and Ghostwire Tokyo were popular/successful.

I'm intrigued how will they move forward in the next 3 years and if there will be an actual successor to Series X and hardware competitor for the PS6.

It seems bad news overall for Xbox. I've read elsewhere that the next hardware/console could be a niche gadget like Steam Deck. Gamepass also hasn't seen growth in the last year, well 1% growth if you count that as growth.

And that doesnt look like it will change.
What does MS have in the pipeline for this year even?
Hellblade 2.

I now fear for the folks at Ninja Theory if HB2 isn't a commercial success...

Call of Duty?
Is it already time for a new one?
That one will cause MS quite a bit of headache too.

Like, do you release it in the game pass or not?
If not then you get angry fans, if you do...you lose money.

That game got no Marketing so far from MS, so i worry for the team a lot.
Hellblade is a cool IP, so i worry that MS will mess this up.

How does this industry keep raising the bar on shamelessly lowering the bar? Needs another crash, asap.
