The Good Citizens of Metropolis: The Casting Thread

Given The Flash movie, we're unlikely not to see these characters anytime soon in the new DCU, but for a DCU version of the Phantom Zone criminals

Even if The Flash wasn’t already venturing into that territory, I think we could afford to give the Phantom Zone crew a rest for awhile.

Yeah. I wanna see a Homegrown villain in the first film, maybe even two.
Metallo and maybe parasite.

But whatever the case, I want Brainiac in part two.

the thing about using Metallo though is if you do him and then follow up with Brainiac, it feels like two robot dudes in a row. Like audiences will just think they’ve already run out of ideas

A Superman movie where Clark grapples with identity seems the perfect opportunity for Parasite.

Why use Brainiac when Zod is available for only the 37th time? :o

Stop exaggerating. Zod has only been used 31 times.

Just do what Timm and Dini did and use Jax-Ur instead. :o

I don't have characters for these people but I would love their presence in the DC films

Ben Sinclair aka "The Guy" from High Maintenance - I would dig him for Lex
Sam Rockwell
Steve Merchant
Thomas Mckenzie
Richard Ayoade

Just some for now

Where's Mala? :o

She is. Her name’s Faora. :o

Nice one chick. Yeah most people don't know this but Faora was not a subservient of Zod, on the contrary, she made Zod, Jax-Ur and all the other phantom zone villains her b***hes.
Faora was the deadliest villain the pre-crisis Superman fought this side of Mongul, Amazo and the magic endowed Grundy! She was a psycho path who invented the martial art style Haru Kanu that was taught to the kryptonian army. Basically she was as powerful as Superman, as crazy as Joker and could fight like Bruce Lee.I recommend you all read Action 471 to see how fearsome Faora was, infact Superman had to get the Justice league involved to beat her.

I had trouble picking her in all honesty:funny: .

Whoever she is , she's gotta be able to rock that big white hair.:cwink:

A few interesting facts about Mala: first, Mala was originally a male and was the very first Kryptonian villain Superman fought in the comics (along with U-Ban and Kizu), long before Jax-ur, Xadu and Zod. Another interesting fact is that Mala was voiced by Sarah Douglas who in-turn played Ursa in Superman 1 and II.

No idea if he can act, but Thomas Elms is playing one of the titular Boys in the Boat in the upcoming George Clooney film. I think the earnestness he usually gets out of actors would translate well for Superman.

For the three fathers influencing Supes’ legacy, I’d like to see:

John C Reilly as Perry,

Gary Sinise as Pa Kent

and, probably been suggested to death, but Eric Bana feels like a no-brainer Jor-El

Otherwise I like über-man Alexander Skarsgård for a disarming, charismatic Lex Luthor, although it might be a little too close to his current Succession role depending on the characterization they elect to follow

And Ben Mendelsohn plays addicts well, which might lend itself to a sympathetic villain in Parasite.

Anyone here watched the show Heels, there is one guy on there I can see being a Superman candidate; Trey Tucker. He's 33 and about 6'3 in height. He's even mentioned he wants to play Superman in an interview

Is it wrong of me to have a Clark in his college years actually going to college?

Would have to see him act, but looks-wise, not bad.

Provided they really wanna go younger with Batman (which they shouldn't) he'd be a good fit for that as well visually.

We don't really know how young they want to go with Batman.
