Depp at this point in his career does seem the type to suggest in a drunken haze that perhaps Jor-El could look like a Jelly Donut and he could just do the voice.

I’d like Jor El to be the perfect image of a Superman who’s wise, serious, and knows exactly what he’s doing. Like a Jamie Dornan or Richard Madden.

I think having them similar in age could make for more comparison between Clark and Jor El. Like, if Jor El is this seemingly perfect man, the top scientist on his planet, family man, man of action and making hard decisions, going against the grain, etc, sort of this ideal Clark wrongly compares himself to, cause of course the database is just a filtered snapshot of the man that leaves out all of his insecurities, years of failure, etc.

When Gunn says the story is gonna be about Clark reconciling his Kryptonian heritage etc, I hope it’s along these lines, Clark realizing that he need not aspire to be the perfect Kryptonian like his father (successful, better than “normal”) when he needed only to aspire to be like Jonathan all along, a nice guy.

I kind of like Teller for Superman but at 36 he may be older than Gunn’s casting range.

Teller's character in top gun is suppose to be in his 20s and he pulled it off. He still has a boyish look about him, but with a punchable face, ideal for Supes.

Oh yeah, Yeah I have seen Sunny since its early days. My issue is he would still be a joke, regardless of how seriously he plays the role he will always be funny, we would still see him as Dennis and then we would again have a "joke" Lex which I so baddly want to escape from.

Even when he is playing a dark side of Dennis is still for laughs and I worry that is what we will see.
