Depp at this point in his career does seem the type to suggest in a drunken haze that perhaps Jor-El could look like a Jelly Donut and he could just do the voice.
I’m pleased to see someone else thinking relatively young for Jor-El.I’d like Jor El to be the perfect image of a Superman who’s wise, serious, and knows exactly what he’s doing. Like a Jamie Dornan or Richard Madden.
Contrasting with a more naive and “simple-minded” Clark and Jonathan (maybe a Tom Hanks or Paul Reiser)

We will see with Blackberry but that it self will be comedy so it will be hard to know if he can really disappear into a different character
I'm not doubting you but just wondering what film recs do you have to show me this.He can. Howerton is a phenomenal actor. He's been my choice for Lex for ages.

Oh yeah, Yeah I have seen Sunny since its early days. My issue is he would still be a joke, regardless of how seriously he plays the role he will always be funny, we would still see him as Dennis and then we would again have a "joke" Lex which I so baddly want to escape from.Don’t have a movie for you. If you want to see what he’s capable of, I recommend Always Sunny.
Still not sure about who to pick for Superman, but...
