The Good Citizens of Metropolis: The Casting Thread

Now that we officially have a Lois to base this off of, I’m going to say Molly Gordon for Lucy Lane.

I'm sure she'll crop up somewhere in Gunn's universe. Cat Grant? Livewire? Supergirl?
I don’t know if she’d want a lower profile role but she could kill it as a modern Cat Grant.

Pa Kent please

Gonna throw Jamie Dornan or Ben Barnes out there for Jor-El. If we’re getting them at all, I want young Els and old Kents.

I mean, the El's are parents to a newborn, and the Kents are parents to a 20-something, so it's just what makes sense, imo.

I'd like the kents to be young enough that they could have convinced people that they had Clark in their prime. Just to shake it up a little, plus a younger Johnathan Kent dying of natural causes feels a little more tragic.

Agreed. Bartlett for Midnighter & Lee Pace for Apollo

I was hoping for mat bomer for apollo. So many people wanted him for superman for so long it would be such a missed opportunity if he didn’t get Apollo

I would like David Morse and Helen Hunt as Ma and Pa Kent. Especially David Morse. He's an underrated actor, but he's a damn good one. Loved him in The Green Mile. And I just loved Helen Hunt in Pay it Forward and Twister.

should we get a different set of actor/actress for the young Kents (when they first find baby Kal-El) and older the Kents when Clark is an adult

or just use same for both and make them look different ages with make up or CG

I don't think there'll be any flashbacks in this.

He's one of my favorites. :) He's been in a ton of good things, movies and TV.

I can actually see Samara Weaving as Cat Grant.
Eh. I think she deserves a meatier role. And personally, I’m hoping for someone a little more outside-the-box for Cat.

That’s the perfect opportunity for Gunn to use one of his regulars. It’s Karen Gillan for me. She’s got the juice…
