The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Hans Zimmer Score thread - Part 2

I bet the same goes for Rhino during the really badass portions of music in "You're that Spider Guy". Shame.

Glad to hear you guys are at least enjoying the OST for the movie. :)

It isn't impossible I'll enjoy the film. Just highly unlikely.

I do love the score, outside of minor quibbles. But that's how I felt for Horner's score also. :D

Horner's is really great too. Quite frankly, if there's one thing to be said for ALL the Spider-Man films, is that every score written for them is great, and wort a listen. Horner made some...weird choices, such as using the Jumanji theme during the opening titles, or thr HIII-YA in Ben's Death...even the snapping fingers...but it was a very solid score from him. As much as I love Hans' score, I do kinda wish Horner had interest in coming back, to expand on his themes.

I wish they used the "Zimmerized" version of Horner's theme from the SDCC footage.

Nice.

And I still hope you'll like the film, as well.

Hans and co did wrote and produced a fitting score for this movie, but I'm hoping for ASM3 to be a little more serious than ASM2, and maybe have Horner back. One thing that annoyed me slightly, was how far ASM2 had strayed from ASM, in terms of tone.

Edit: ITT; Hail Horner.

Agreed. I'm glad we have different Spidey themes from Elfman, Horner and Zimmer. I like them all for different reasons.

I liked the portion of Uncle Ben from ASM1 where he is running in the ally.

Indeed - I'm still longing for an official release. :csad:

Same. I technically got one, if you E-Mail him, his assistant will probably send you a promo of his CD. He sent me one, and it's great.:woot:

Good luck with it.

As do I. I hate being Anti-Spidey, for anything.:csad:

That's good. I mean, you usually don't come off as a hater.

Haters enjoy ripping on other peoples interests, and it's good to know you don't.

Being a little bit redundant, here, but I sincerely hope you'll like the movie when you see it.

Oh yeah, I always respect anyone's opinion, until they disrespect mine. If anyone digs it, more power to them. Glad you can be the same. :woot:
I dig SM3, and I know that's...not popular around these parts.:oldrazz:

We'll see in two weeks. Also, LOL at that photo. :funny:

I like SM3 as well, so you're not alone.

I particularly like the music Hans had during the Peter/Gwen scenes, and the Ground Rules theme.

Excellence.

I'm really in love with the score, I've been listening to it ever since it leaked. CanNOT wait to pick the actual CD up in two days.:woot:

Sure, man.

Btw, I don't hate SM3, either. I just find the movie really... Weird.

I've actually had it on a 7/10 rating on IMDb for like 3 years now, and I still stand by that rating.

I was kinda hoping this as well. I loved that

Can't complain too much about what we got though, I love it as well

I like 'I Choose You' already, but boy, the last 11 seconds, how the notes notes and guitar descends downwards have doomed love all over it. Hauntingly beautiful, also 'We're Best Friends'.

The music works incredibly well with TASM2 - it really resonates emotionally with the audience, or at least, it did for me.

The chanting bits in Electro's theme actually fit pretty well - there's a lot going on in the Times Square scenes, a cacophony of electric booming, so the chanting etc gets lost in the other noises as well to some degree.

But boy..."You're My Boy" is incredibly well done and when that song reaches its peak, it's incrediballs. That song alone adds such a profound emotional weight at the end.
