The HellBoy II: Golden Army Box Office Predictions

First - Hancock(Sony)
Second - HellBoy(Universal)
Third - the Dark Knight(WB)

Why do the studious decide to play chicken with each other? The following movie will take away from the previous. Marvel had the best date with Iron Man.

I think HB2 will take in $45-$50m in the first weekend because the following it gained from the DVD release, fans of del Toro and fans of the genre.

Its mostly money wise most movies make the bulk of there money on the first weak so Hancock & Hellboy will not affect one another as for Ironman that movie got extreamly lucky I mean most could say yeah Spead isnt going to do that well but for narnia to fail as well that was a surprise

You're contradicting yourself on that post. You say most movies make their money on the first weekend, but then you go on to say Iron Man got lucky because of speed racer (which was released a week later) and narnia (which was released two weeks later).

Anyways, I wouldn't say Iron Man got lucky. That movie straight up rocked. Reviews praised it and it averaged right around a 40% drop week after week.

I have a feeling this movie will do very well its opening weekend. Part of me feels that Hancock will still be number one, but i've heard that a lot of people didn't like that movie too much. And another part of me wants this movie to be number one its opening weekend. I want to say it'll make 54mil. But i'm doubting myself right now.

I think this movie will be number 1. Guessing a $40 mil range opening. I think the marketing has been really good and funny!

About a good $40 million take then a hard 70% drop. Pretty much everyone I know of hasn't even heard of the first one, and the ones that do know about it didn't like the first.

Might get a little boost for taking over the front page of IMDB.

I think this will do fairly poorly in the box office, just my hunch, and especially with the Dark Knight looming just next week. But I think we'll get hellboy 3, thanks to the hobbit. it'll probable do well on DVD releases. But i hope it does well on the opening weekend, it certainly seems deserving of it

I would guess 50-60 and put money on 55.

Yeah, it's getting the advertising treatment the first one needed. 55 sounds about good.

I'm thinking $35-$45 opening weekend, probably $100-$115 domestic. It'll make money in the DVD sales.

That's what my prediction range is. I think it will end up making around 130million domestically. On a budget on 72-75million that would be regarded as a boxoffice hit.

Worldwide, I see this movie at least making $200 million.

I predict $11-13 million opening day i.e. Friday.

I think it'll have a slow start opening night but once word of mouth kicks in, it'll earn some more money. It only has a week to make as much money as possible considering the fact that TDK is 7 days away.

My theater had quite a lot of people in it....more than I expected. The movie was spectacular, and has over an 80% at rottentomatoes, so word of mouth will do this movie good. In any case, it should do good enough to warrant a sequel.

I hope it makes all the money it deserves.

As do I...I at least want one more movie. I saw the movie today & it was every bit as good as the first movie, so there's no doubt that I want a third movie to give the franchise the proper send off.

Friday Hellboy did just under 14 million and beat Hancock by almost 4 million. Not a bad start...

Del Toro is a film budget mastermind. I'm sure the Universal is thrilled with whatever returns, since Del Toro can make a $70 million flick look like a $150 million film, and they dont do squat to promote films like this and Hulk.

Does that mean we can expect a $40-50 million dollar weekend?

If it gets a nice Saturday bump (15-20%) then it'll get right around $40 million. That would end up being about a 73% increase over the first one. Pretty damn good!

This movie should surpass everything the first movie did since word of mouth has been good.
