I don't care I still love FvJ. It's fun, it's Jason and its Freddy together. Love it.

Ronny Yu's directing was a plague upon horror film sequels.

I didn't like the way Freddy talked in FvJ, like he was talking around the fake teeth (and I'm sure he was). He spoke fine in the other films.

Been wanting to see this. It's on demand and streaming and also available now in stores. Gonna try to check it out sometime this month. Has my interest because it's Hodder and Moseley.

Isn't it true Kane Hodder is major pissed at FvJ because he didn't get to play Jason?

I know he was mad when he wasn't asked to be involved at all.

Yeah, and the dude who played Jason in FvJ was horrible. Apparently, Ronny Yu wanted to cast him because of his eyes. Idiot.

I thought Yu wanted him because of his height?
Whatever it was, I remember it being stupid to not reuse Hodder.

You know what's cool though. Ken Kerzinger (who player Jason in FvJ) was in Jason Takes Manhattan. He has an encounter with Hodder as Jason too haha. Around 6 minute mark in this video

So on TV they're playing a few movies a week in the lead up to Halloween, which is good for me because I'm too lazy to seek them out. :funny:

Last night was Freddy vs Jason (just terrible, ended up skipping between it and something else) and after that was The Devil's Rejects, which I didn't watch at all. So I'm not off to a great start at my first attempt to watch a lot if horror movies.

Tomorrow night is Scream, which I've seen a few times and really enjoy, and Halloween, which I've never seen but have wanted to for ages.

Be careful. They might be playing Rob Zombie's abomination of a movie and not John Carpenter's classic.

I loved the fight between Freddy & Jason, but the rest of the movie was only "meh" at best.

I enjoyed the movie a lot save for Kelly Rowland's "acting" and some minor writing issues here and there; Jason is not afraid of water and Freddy is not afraid of fire dammit.

FvJ's tone is akin to those Asian-funded movies that feature American/English actors, directed by Hong Kong directors. Kinda cheesy.

I watched the last HAMMER Frankenstein movie today (FRANKENSTEIN AND THE MONSTER FROM HELL)....it stars Peter Cushing as the Baron and David Prowse as the monster....so you have a scene where Grand Moff Tarkin attacks Darth Vader and knocks him out.

Well to be fair, they never actually said Freddy was afraid of fire only that he died by fire. But yeah, Jason being afraid of water was dumb. If he were afraid of water, he never would have boarded The Lazarus in Part 8.

And the whole "They need to remember who Freddy is in order for him to kill them in their dreams" thing was kinda dumb too. No one knew who Freddy was in the first several movies and that didn't stop Freddy from killing them in their sleep.

But like I said before. To me the best part of the movie is when Freddy and Jason start fighting each other, both in the dream world and in the real world. That was pretty cool.

The final fight was amazing! I loved the part when Freddy was hitting Jason with his machete

I love FvJ just because it's FvJ. I like it just because of that fact. I never expected it to be anything other than a 'good' bad movie with two slasher movies villains murdering everything.

What the hell was Platinum Dunes doing sitting on their properties? Neither the Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street remakes were impressive, but they had done good business, i thought making sequels was a no brainer, and i was actualy hoping it would eventualy lead into another Freddy vs Jason movie, now both franchises are going to be rebooted again, which leads me into one question: What was the point in rebooting in the first place, if you're not even going to keep building from that? The weird continuity which is making each new instalment a sequel to an old horror classic (which most modern teens aren't going to find scary now) isn't going to end with the longevity of these film series. The Texas chainsaw films are the best example, they rebooted witha film that most seem to have liked, then had a prequel that didn't make as much business instead of making a direct sequel, and after that, the franchise had to be rebooted with a sequel to the original classic, not it's getting another film that is only in continuity with the original, in the form of a prequel.

I feel like a horror film franchise has to keep things simple in order to be successful, all these reboots keep complicating everything more than needed.

I watched 2 movies today:

The Guest(2014): AMAZING! Its a very good thriller mixed with a bit of other genres and an 80s vibe, it has a great soundtrack. It was directed by the guy who made You're Next

In Their Sleep(2010): It was decent, the first half was very suspenseful but the rest kinda falls apart.

Freddy and Jason are both being rebooted . So is Michael Myers and there's another Chucky film in development. Poor Pumpkinhead has been forgotten.

I watched the Horror of Dracula the other night. Tarkin kills Count Dooku in that one.

The fact that you guys liked FvJ is much scarier (and entertaining) than the movie itself. :o

Be careful. They might be playing Rob Zombie's abomination of a movie and not John Carpenter's classic.

I was worried about that, but it turned out to be the good one!

I quite liked it. Other than some characters making some classic-horror-movie-dumb-decisions (not shutting doors behind them, thinking they've killed the big bad and dropping their weapons/keeping their backs to them) I enjoyed it. I might have to seek out the others now if they don't come on during the month. It seems they're not on this next week...

Scream was also on, and that's always good.

So t'was a good horror night.

Last i heard about Freddy, it was a reboot rumor, but i'm not sure it was ever officialy announced, Pinhead has been forgotten too, i remember hearing talks of a reboot for years. Texas chainsaw massacre films are still being made, but i doubt they will last for much longer, everyone who makes a new one seems to be aimless towards what they want for the franchise's future.

Anyway, Saw has ended and Paranormal Activity is ending soon, the closest we have to a new yearly horror film series is The Conjuring / Annabelle series, but that will rest on Conjuring 2's quality, and if an Annabelle sequel ever happens.
