you know, i think the main reason for all the mask comments is simply charlies' face. he has a big head compared to his body and just doesn't have a great jawline for a mask like that.

I'm not great at spotting design details but are there differences between the old suit and new promo image aside from the cowl?

As someone who wasn't a fan of the old suit, I'm loving the new version. Can't wait to see it in action.

The line of the helmet part goes over the ear now, rather than covering it.

It's an improvement, but those black lines on the helmet are still there, and they annoy me. That, and parts of the body, makes it look like some kind of sports gear rather than a superhero costume. And the neck part is also still black. Why? The black isn't needed to add detail or texture - it's busy enough that it would look fine if everything was red.

Anyway, it's a step in the right direction.

It looks better in motion in the trailer, looks a lot more like DD to me, the cowl anyway. I like the way its evolving and how it seems improvements are made as the old costume takes damage.

It's not the best angle or pose in that promo image. I'd imagine that, like the first costume, it'll look far better in motion.

Despite being quite reserved about the red suit, I absolutely love the idea of it being improved constantly over time, like the black suit in S1. That, along the broken, half-ass-repaired mask, really emphasizes that he's a rather different type of hero than most of the other MCU fellas and that he does have to constantly struggle with the damage he receives, not just body-wise, but also his gear and equipment.

True gives the entire series a more grounded feel since Matt can't actually afford to just have his suit restored to full glory after every battle like he's Tony Stark or something.

I'm really happy with how the suit's looking now. There seems to have been minor changes made that have worked well. I'm not sure how, but net month I think I will, but the suit seems to look less restrictive than it appeared at the end of last season. It was probably my biggest problem with it, otherwise I loved the suit really, was how agile Matt is and how he flips around in a suit that looked so restrictive. But, something about how it looked in the new trailer and pictures, it seems more form fitting and tight around his body. It was one of the great things about the black ninja suit, that it looked comfortable for someone as agile as Matt to do all of his acrobatic maneuvers in.

Maybe by the time Defenders hits his suit will be even more streamlined while still protective and give us his most faithful to the comics look.

Hopefully the positive fan response to that will give the producers the impetus to make it more like that - they know what we want.
