Daredevil The Inevitable Costume Thread - Part 1

I wouldn't like the DD on the suit. It's one of those things that works in the comics but probably wouldn't in live action, at least not without the risk of looking cartoonish.

I'm personally indifferent to it. To me, it's not the strongest symbol around. It comes off as relatively uncreative (as if they needed to give him something because everyone else had something and they couldn't think of what else to do). To me, decluttering the costume (and getting rid of all that black) are priorities. I recognize the costume isn't ever going to be as accurate as Deadpool's costume, so then we have to decide what the priorities are.

I am in the camp that wants the "DD" on the suit.

Well if they dont add it I wont die. But it just feels like a priority. I'm still thinking they'll wait until Defenders. Right now what signifies Daredevil isnt the DD it's the mask. So the DD logo isnt necessary just yet.

The thing is, Daredevil's logo/symbol doesn't make his suit like other superheroes symbols do. Spiderman, Batman, Superman, Captain America, etc... If any of these characters didnt have their logo, they'd be missing something crucial from their outfit. Something that makes them the character. Daredevil has the horns and the overall red look, a small DD on it isn't going to make or break an outfit.

What if instead of the DD, he has the big D on his chest like his original black and yellow uniform? It could almost hide itself on his chest, looking like piping or a zipper and could look quite subtle - maybe more subtle than the smaller double Ds in the middle.

I don't think that's gonna serve any real purpose. I like what I've seen of the suit so far.

In the "grounded" Superhero films like TDK and MoS they found good explanations for the symbols. Superman with his family crest and Batman with his symbolism of Bats.

Daredevil and his love of initials?

His cowl already spells out the Devil motif pretty well.

Yeah I'm not going to trip if they don't give him the double D. If they do cool if not whatever.

How can you tell it's all red?

What about his neck which is black? That automatically makes it not all red.

upon closer inspection, you are right. couldn't really tell from the lighting. but anyway, seems this new suit is more red than the previous one

They definitely minimized the black on the shoulders and torso, may be gone altogether. The mask is much better too. So close to perfection.

The suit doesn't look all that different to me, but I need to see a side by side comparison to really tell.

It has mostly the same design elements, but the black pieces on the chest and shoulders have been switched to red. There maybe more differences that we can't see yet.

I think only the black plastic-looking bits on his shoulders have been changed to red.

The black bits on his abdomen still look back, as well as the large swaths of black on his pants. (As far as I can make out in dark shots, anyway).

He looks like he could fit in perfectly in Civil War

The new mask:

Not crazy about the bright red lenses. That shot almost makes him look cross-eyed. But hopefully there is a cool shot at some point of thugs in complete darkness and then the only thing they see are the red lenses coming at them.
