Costume designer has confirmed the fitting pictures are from the first season.

I love how people think the exact same suit is a better suit.

Even being from a season one fitting session, that cowl is definitely different than the final version, specifically the faceplate and the neck/jawline.

Nope, still don't like it.

Well it's not like this will be his absolute final costume/ suit. Look at how many was made for captain America for both his personal movies and the avengers movies they'll make more for sure.

Oh absolutely. I expect them to update the suit somewhere down the line. Right now however, even as a prototype suit, it looks poor.

(it's a test suit from the first season :cwink: )

I'm well aware. As I said, even as a test/prototype, I personally think it's bad. It just reminds me too much of the ugly The Dark Knight costume.

The faceplate of the cowl in the final episode was darker than the rest of the helmet (kind of like the 1966 Batman), you just couldn't really tell in the dark lighting. But you can sort of see it in this pic.

Any photoshoppers handy? Could someone remove the nose guard from the mask? I think that's where this outfit and my imagination are clashing.

It's already been done several times, I'm sure there must be a few examples in this thread.

The nose guard is the least of my problems with the suit - I pretty much agree with their reasoning for adding it.

What's the deal with the puffy upper chest that stops mid pecs?

This one was done a while ago and I personally think the removal of the noseguard and addition of the logo on the chest go a long way in improving the costume...

Right. I asked so I wouldn't have to scroll page by page through the thread myself. If someone had already posted such a thing they would know where to find it much better than I, no?

Yes, a nose guard makes sense on a helmet/body armor. That has never been in contention. The point is it throws off the look from classic DD.

Thank you. Yeah it does look a lot better with his nose exposed. The logo I';d shrink a bit and put it over one breast. Those both look really good though (I think the one on the right edges out the left)

I guess I must be the only one not a fan of the fan edits.

Man, that looks so much better. I don't see how they can say having the nose exposed made it obvious it was Cox. The guy has a fairly distinct chin too.

While I'm not the biggest fan of the noseguard, plugging the gaping hole underneath the chin would be my first port of call, if I could Photoshop.

I just did a quick manip off the Captain America helmet.
I think something like might look nice.
I think the eyes should be hidden, because off the "blind" look/stare.

On the black bandana mask that he wore for 12 of the 13 episodes of Season 1, the mask covered his nose but didn't have this nose guard thing that he has on this new helmet. The nose guard makes it look too much like a beak, particularly in pictures like this:

The "M" design over his eyes don't help either. Not only does it give him a more bird-like face, but it also gives his face a kind of squashed appearance, maybe with the squinting eyes as well.

It think it should be a straight piece across his nose like the black bandana, with no design markings whatsoever above his eyes, and either his eye holes should just look like normal ones or should be like the Affleck mask. Or he could even go without eye holes completely.

And his chest area looks far too square and rigid. They could've had more of a sculpted musculature, or even had something that was thin and flexible enough to follow the contours of his actual muscles.

I didn't particularly like the black costume because it was overly simple and seemed like something just thrown together, and also reminded me of the Trial of the Incredible Hulk suit. But at least it had a better silhouette and general body shape than the final suit.
