As long as we get the version Black intended to make, I don't give a fig about how they doctor the chinese cut. I'm not going to be seeing it anyway.

That is the spirit. It is ok if the movie is messed with as long as I get to see the "official" version.

Producers want this film to appeal in China, so they are making decisions, creative and otherwise to meet that end. Ergo, this isn't a movie where the director had/has complete creative control.

For all the fans that cheer on Shane Blacks vision, it's becoming apparent that between RDJ/Feige/Disney/China's public relations cabinet, that there are few cooks in the creative control kitchen.

In comparison with say...Chris Nolan on his own work that is.
So yes, in light of this example of executives overtly pulling rank to suit their goals, I'm going to question Shane Blacks creative control on this movie. I'm going to question it alot more than I question Snyders creative control on MoS even.

I would love to compare this to the typical Director cut scenario. Maybe.
Still, now I'm beginning to wonder if the idea for China involvement entirely didn't start with the executives.

Amazing how, fans will appreciate all sorts of changes if but only the film appeases their design needs early on.

I can only imagine if this was the concept work released for the first film. It simply wouldn't get a fair shake. Not around these parts.

Dude. The Chinese version is gonna have like one or two extra scenes, probably. Don't try to start an argument where there is none. Every report from news outlets that have seen parts of the movie have said that it absolutely feels like a Shane Black movie.

And for the love of Jebus, don't bring Nolan into this.

For reals, I know there are plenty of unsubstantiated concerns, often in the form of not-so-subtle condescensions, in fandom, but it's almost not even comical anymore. Almost.

When I see your posts, I always read them in Alan Rickman's depressing Marvin voice. It matches perfectly.

Hahahhahaha .... laugh of the day.

This should be the comic book movie version of Godwin's Law.

Nolan's Law: The longer an online discussion of a comic book movie goes on, the probability of a comparison involving Nolan or The Dark Knight trilogy approaches 1.

In other words, given enough time, in any online discussion of CBMs—regardless of topic or scope—someone inevitably makes a comparison to Nolan's Batfilms.

Some people just can't help themselves....

I'll never understand people who just look for s*** to complain about.

Ah, that explains it.

Sadly, there are few people who have ranted against the man more than myself. Even more sad is how obtuse the other end of SHH hype can be. The marvel fans and the nolan fans, they almost deserve each other.

actually reading some of these posts...
One mention of lord voldermort and the ad hominem and or point dismissal, starts as if on cue.

And I thought Bay was the only hot name around here.

I'll never understand the Marvel vs Nolan fued.. I love both sides, Nolans films are cool movies and not really like a comic book-y feel where as the Marvel movies are very comic book exact. I like TDK and TDKR because they're good movies with cool/scary bad guys with good plots and stories. I like Avengers and it's solo outings because you get these stories right off the pages of a comic book and the whole shared universe idea is awesome as well.

Bringing up Nolan in threads that are unrelated to him and his work is like touching the third rail to see if you get shocked. Common sense should tell you that you'll get a negative reaction because people are frankly sick of attempts to stir up the DC/Marvel rivalry that way. It comes off as trolling simply because it all too often is.

Common Sense? We're all grown ups. You make it sound like this is a play ground divided between sharks and jets territory.
It's not my responsibility to tip toe around individuals like a would a stray that has been hit one too many times with a newspaper and is now violent. If I wanted to troll I would, it just so happens I thought to make a fair point about what I think I see happening with the always bureaucratic marvel studios. I'd love to say that next time I will try to make the point without bringing up Voldermort's name, but I think this place is better than that. For all the lurkers that may join some day, this place should be better than trolls and troll accusers.
Like it was 7 years ago.

That being said.
Unlike Stanly Kubrick, he who shall not be named just so happens to be famous director of similar material, quite literally the exact film this one is competing with. Rounding out it's cbm trilogy about a rich one man arm....why bother. Next time I'll just say Singer.:whatever:

I'm not seeing the issue here.
"Oh, Marvel's adding a couple scenes to the final film to appeal to a country I don't even live in? BOO! There goes Marvel Studios again, ALWAYS taking creative control from the film makers!"
Please.

So.. does anyone here care about the "Heroes Fall" soundtrack recently announced?

I'm just wondering because it's a wide departure to go from almost all AC/DC to a variety of Alternative Rock/Indie bands. (Not that I'm complaining, I love most of the bands doing songs for the soundtrack)

"Avengers Assemble" was mostly hard rock/metal songs, so I find it a strange diversion. Maybe it symbolizes the change of tone from Iron Man 1/2 and the Avengers.

I'm good with most of those bands --- AWOLNATION, Neon Trees, Andrew Stockdale, Imagine Dragons, The Wondergirls. Can't stand 3!OH!3.

Really? I like some of their songs, especially their track for Tron Uprising.
