I honestly felt that RDJ returning was a given, and here's why...

For all the AWESOME that "The Avengers" was, it pretty much got snubbed in terms of awards. And I gotta think that for someone like RDJ, that kinda rubs him the wrong way, and makes him a bit defiant.

Meaning he'll be around for a while, keep raking in the massive amounts of cash, and helping the franchise break box office records on massive scales, pretty much to snub his nose at the stiffs in Hollywood that shun giving a movie like "The Avengers" and sort of serious credit.

But, eventually, he will get bored snubbing his nose at them, and that will be the end of RDJ in the franchise, but his contribution is undeniable. He built the foundation, and has carried it on his shoulders, and honestly, I think he likes that.

....yeah or maybe it's just a combination of a good working relationship with Marvel, not having to carry all the weight, and the fact that it's 2 movies spread out over 5-6 years for boatloads of money.

Exactly. I definitely wanna ask quickly: do you foresee making Iron Man 4, or do you think that, like Hulk, that’s what’s gonna make Avengers special? Getting those characters just for those films. Do you know what I mean?

And you're welcome. I'm surprised they haven't showcased his musical talents in an IM movie yet. He could've been sitting at a piano with Pepper and playing a song, and it wouldn't have seemed out of place - especially in something like IM3 where it was set at Christmas.

Or they could have him featured on a soundtrack or over the end credits.

I wonder why no one here has started speculating about tony's next armor/s. After the not so good looking mark 42 I hope Whedon goes back to the bulkier, far cooler looking gold (real gold) and red design. I know they'll probably keep the sleeker thinner armor look, but I hope they bring back the gold and red(with the same color distribution). Plus Tony will definitely have to update the tech on the suits and the metal alloy they're made from now that they'll be fighting Ultron, he needs a stronger alloy.

I think its the right time to introduce the bleeding edge suit with plasma sword and all.

Hemsworth is a smart guy. I think he's been a little unlucky getting breaks in bigger films. Snow White was a modest hit, but he's had a number of flops which is sad. Rush was a great movie, and shows he does have some good acting chops, unfortunately it didn't get the audience recognition or the Oscar attention, it was originally thought to have done.

Being in these movies is really a good spotlight for him. He's a known entity and very well loved by the general audience. I think it will bode well for his career going forward.

I could see Stark going through two suits again like in A1. Maybe a Mark 43 that he's built during the interim between IM3 and AOU as a contingency for future threats. Then a Mark 44 when the M43 proves to be not enough against Ultron.

I wouldn't mind them keeping the leaner look of the Mark 42, but would like them go back to the classic distribution of the red and gold on it. Switching to the black and gold for the second suit might be a nice change of pace.

Hemsworth is doing just fine, I dont think he's been unlucky at all, quite the opposite. He got work really quickly after moving to Hollywood, like 6 weeks or something. Cash, Star Trek, Cabin in the Woods, Red Dawn, IIRC, were all done/being filmed before he even got cast as Thor in 2009.

I'm pretty sure he signed on to Snow White before Thor came out also, so he was obviously hoping one of those franchises would take off.

Since then he's had Rush (which did fine vs it's budget, it was never meant to be a blockbuster) with Ron Howard. He just did Heart of the Sea, again with Howard, so you know something is working. He filmed Cyber with Michael Mann last year.

Spielberg wanted to work with him in Robopocalypse before it was postponed, and he has 3 more Marvel films which will all be big hits. There are many struggling actors who would kill for such quick and big breaks. He's flying right now.
