The Dark Knight The James Gordon / Gary Oldman Thread

Gary Oldman was absolutely fantastic in True Romance by the way, you can hardly tell it is him. I think its a sign of a great actor when they can play so many different types of characters.

Gary Oldman speaks about Heath's passing on Steve Jones' radio show.
Here's a recap and link:

Gary Oldman—who just wrapped production on the “Batman Begins” sequel, “The Dark Knight”, with Heath Ledger as The Joker—made a guest appearance on his good buddy Steve Jones’ radio show today and the two kicked things off with a sweet memorial to Heath. Steve is the guitarist for the Sex Pistols and I’ve mentioned his excellent lunchtime treat previously; just because you’re not in LA doesn’t mean you can’t listen since the radio station streams live online at www.indie1031.com (thanks, Internet!). You can listen to a podcast of today’s show with Gary Oldman at http://www.indie1031.com/7504_JJ_-_media.php?id=14.

Despite evidence reported at the scene of Heath’s death and much speculation by spastic media, Gary pointed out that he never saw any evidence of drug use during his time with Heath on “The Dark Knight” and characterized him as “a sweet, sensitive guy.” He also pointed out that it just goes to show how something like substance abuse however accidental can be the great equalizer—it’ll get you no matter how handsome, famous, wealthy, or talented you are. Gary brought in a song specifically to dedicate to Heath, Anthony Hamilton’s “Pass Over Me”. The chorus goes like this: “If you catch me dreaming, please don't wake me ‘til I’m done/Just leave me sleeping until the morning come/Just pass me over, make believe that I’m not there/Just leave me be until the savior comes.” Gary had some beautiful things to say about the Heath Ledger he’d gotten to know and it was good to hear them in the wake of so much tabloid hearsay surrounding his passing.

Man, he looks cool there. :word:

In the picture he looks a lot like Mathieu Amalric, IMHO.

Not sure but that looks pretty cool. Last pic especially looks very film noirish.

Those pics can't be from anything recent, because Gary looks quite young on them. "Romeo is bleeding" young, I would say. This makes me guess that they are from TV series "Fallen Angels" (1993, same year as "Romeo is bleeding") but I might be wrong - never watched it myself, just did a quick investigation on IMDB. But it fits with the general premise of the show...

I'd pay to see that at the theatre with my...

I own 450 copies on DVD, VHS, Beta, Laserdisc, HD-DVD and Blue Ray.

I also have a copy of the script, which Gary Oldman personally etched into a large slab of granite with his mind.

I heard Gary Oldman died and when he got to heaven God was Gary Oldman, so God sent Gary Oldman back to earth because there is only room for one Gary Oldman in the afterlife.

Gary Oldman is to the Batboards what Bruce Campbell is to the Spidey boards.
