The Dark Knight The James Gordon / Gary Oldman Thread

There was a call sheet that included a scene where Detective Stephens alerts her to Gordon's "death."

i was sold on jonah when i first bought the memento special edition dvd 6 or so years ago and read the original short story he wrote that inspired memento. he's just an incredible writer...and no offense to goyer, but i think he's ALOT better with dialogue. i know people are freaking out about the dialogue because of sides, but the prologue has already proved that the sides were almost completely inaccurate. i thought that the prestige was a wonderfully written film, too. as for gordon, im just glad they are giving him an active role in this sequel...id have to say he's my favorite "normal" character in the batman universe, by far.

Shoot, I forgot about Memento... I should have know, I've read that original story, it's awsome. Also true about the dialogue from the sides, when I first read them I was like oh man, how stilted, but now we know they were fake.

Certainly hope so, by all accounts The Dark Knight is not only going to be on of the best super-hero movies ever made, but possibly one of the best *movies* of all time.

I would love that. Suddenly my ex girlfriend would have to eat all her words.

Not that i'm bitter or anything...

Apologies if there is already a thread on this.

I really want this interaction because official they don't know each other other than where Gordon comforted Bruce the night his parents were killed.

Plus I really would like for something to happen that gives Gordon a reason to suspect that Wayne is Batman. Nothing to obvious. Just a little raise of the eyebrow.

Also if they meet would either of the two acknowledge their meeting in the Police station?

This is small stuff that I feel would just help to add more flavor to the story.

Yeah, I bet Gordon does a whole like spoilt rich guy bit or something. Especially with Dent on the scene.

Side note, do they have much connection in the comics?

I know Gordon counts *Batman* as one of his closest friends, but does he even know Bruce?

There have been notable occasions where they have interacted and at different times in the Batmythos they have know each other fairly well.

I'm not sure in the current incarnation how well they know each other but they did meet in Batman Year one. Of course Gordon also strongly suspects that Wayne is Batman so...

I thought Harvey, Batman, and Gordon met up on the rooftop like in TLH?

Bruce will pop out of Gordon's mustache

Damnit, you made me laugh yet spill my drink! What should I do......commend you for making me laugh, or shake a fist for making my spill my drink?

I know!

That was hilarious, you ASS!! :cmad:

Yea, they have a scene together.

Bruce tails Gordon and Reese through the streets in his Lamborghini, then prevents a hit on Reese by sandwiching his car in between them and another SUV. Bruce sits on the mangled car and has a little playboy Bruce exchange with an inquisitive Gordon

So pretty much exactly what the OP wanted

We're talking Burce and Gordon, not Batman and Gordon.

But. . . isn't Bruce Wayne = Batman?! You didn't know?! :wow::wow::wow:

Yeah, I think someone confirmed the Batman, Gordon, Harvey roof meet in the Chicago filming thread.

Ooo, hadn't heard that.

...

Now I'm pissed at myself for reading it. Goddammit.

So they actually shot the scene on a real rooftop in Chicago?:wow:

I'll bet they meet at the party. It would be lame not to have Gordon there to support Dent, and see everything go down.

I want Oldman to cock a shotgun and say "lets kick some ass" if that was in the movie, TDK would be my offical favorite movie.

I don't remember saying that :oldrazz:

Moving right along. I really hope Gordon has a greater part in the story. Also I hope they have more rooftop scenes with the Batsignal. I figured they would though.

To me it works very well, and should get support from the comic fan world.

Dark victory, long halloween is imo the films BB should have been the slight 1940s feel mixed in with the freaks and the mob that feels like the true mob. a true realism/comic book feel prevades those novels its what BB should have been
