The Joker Thread - Part 1

When the guy said something controversial, fans were asking “is Batman gay? Is he a serial killer? I heard Alfred dies in the movie, maybe that’s it! , is Bruce not a billionaire?”. That’s why he addressed those questions. Now, he didn’t actually say it was a Joker tease so we don’t know (like I said he does know things, he’s not just a random dude). But somebody else confirms it’s a Joker tease in the film.

If it’s not all of those things above, then I’m more inclined to believe that it IS a Joker tease. I wonder how it will be done, because you can’t do a rooftop card turn. It can’t be a final scene. Maybe something in Arkham Asylum that makes us go “ohhh ****!”.

Why can't it be a final scene? How about a post credits scene?

I always thought the physicality of Ron Moody as Fagin would be good for the Joker. Someone lanky, who kind of slinks around.

I'd like the next actor to evoke a similar physical presence to some of the all-time greats of the Silent Film Era. Nosferatu, The Man Who Laughs, Dr. Caligari, The Phantom of the Opera, etc.

I guess a post credit would work but only if Joker is planned as the main villain for a sequel. The final scene could make it feel too close to Batman Begins where the first instalment ends on a Joker cliffhanger and dives into that character (and Harvey Dent) for the sequel. I’d rather they tease Joker in the second or third act and end the film in the last 5 minutes with Bruce/Batman. Bring Joker into the next movie in a minor role alongside other villains. I don’t want TDK 2.0. As long as it’s something that hasn’t happened before, I’m open minded.

Hearing laughter in Arkham Asylum or a weird-looking guy with pale white skin and greenish hair staring creepily at Batman in his cell or something like that would be interesting

Another person I'd suggest for the next Joker would be Tom Hiddleston, but he'll presumably still be involved in that Loki show on Disney+, and he'd probably be a little too obvious

Bill Skarsgard as Joker
He'd probably be a cool choice, but again it's way too obvious. Besides, I'd rather have either him or CLJ play Carnage sometime in the future maybe should something happen with Sony. Although CLJ is also my first choice for Joker rn as well

I want a stylish Joker like this:Screenshot_20200321-180207.png

Leaving that typo.

A stylish Joker with short hair is really necessary right now coming off of Joaquin. The purple’s gotta jump off the suit too. Joaquin’s didn’t really dabble with that, and neither did Leto for the most part.

A perfect post credits scene for The Batman (2021)

Bruce/Batman is on a rooftop where the Bat Signal goes off in the sky and Bruce prowls the rooftops from rooftop to rooftop until he flies down from the last rooftop to the ground. Bruce then gets to the scene of the crime and when he does, there is specifically a calling card left for him in the form of a Joker card. We see Joker hiding in the shadows watching Bruce as we only hear Joker laughing. Post credits scene over.

...is there anything to be said for incorporating Phoenix into these mo-

Oh God I loved that portrayal. :applaud

I’d be very curious to see what Donald Glover would do with the role...

Interesting choice.

Cool. But I seriously doubt we’ll be seeing or hearing his voice since he’s more likely to be cast in a few years.

For what it's worth, Datrinti posted his take on Willem Dafoe as Joker (which could've been perfect against someone like Jon Hamm as Batman IMHO). I'd like something similar to this design, but with one of my other choices for the roleScreenshot_20200323-084849.png

But DaFoe and Pattinson together again would make it worth it. I wouldn’t care how old he is. Their chemistry was off the charts in Lighthouse.

I remember there being a relatively small group of people online wanting Rhys Wakefield to play Joker back when The Purge was huge. He looks like him, so maybe??? Unless he doesn't want to be typecast?

who the eff is Rhys Wakefield
He played the "Leader" of the killers from The Purge. I haven't seen it and have no real desire to, but people say he's the best partthe-purge-smile.jpg Rhys-Wakefield_celebhairdo.jpg

It's true to say he and his gang of hoodlums were the best part of that movie, but ultimately that still isn't saying much.
