The Joker Thread - Part 1

Fancasting is interesting to say the least. Let's just hope whoever's cast physically looks like him AND of course, has the acting chops.

If we're going for an actor closer in age to Pattinson, how about Finn Wittrock?

Hellz no to the La La Land boyfriend and Efron. Hells to the no.

Yup. Didn’t change my mind on Efron. He doesn’t disappear into his roles.

Haha i like Efron but he doesn’t have what it takes to be a Joker that isn’t Efron wearing makeup acting the same.

EXTREMELY (IMO) left-field choice that'll probably never happen and is probably not that great an idea anyways: Ty Burell

Right now CLJ is still my first choice. My other choices in no particular order are: Timothee Chalamet, Paul Bettany, and Rhys Wakefield. The latter looks a little too cartoonish but maybe they could balance it out with mild chemical burns or something.

They COULD maybe pull off what Gotham tried to pull off with the whole chemically scarred Joker concept. It's an interesting idea for sure, but I personally prefer the pale guy look.

Honestly, I hope they take advantage of the actor's facial structure when applying the makeup on his face. One extremely, EXTREMELY minor gripe with Phoenix was that his Joker makeup didn't really emphasize his facial structure, what with the red nose, shape of the smile, etc. Same could arguably be said for Ledger IMHO. That being said, they still had great designs.

If they plan on casting someone like Rhys or maybe Timothee, then sure, I guess they could give Joker some chemical scarring so that they look creepy. Make them look like ASHOSE Joker, which wouldn't be that hard anyways

When it comes to CLJ and Paul Bettany (especially since the latter gives me TDKR vibes), keep the scarring to a minimum. Maybe some sclera damage or eyelid damage but nothing huge. But that's just me personally.

Chalamet has too much of a Robin, Spider-Man vibe. Younger brother to Rob. Too young for Joker right now. And I don’t think he’s as good of an actor as people claim.

What worries me is that we're investing too much into this interpretation and he'll only appear in one film again and then we'll just have to wait for the next reboot in 10 years or so. I want an enduring Joker this time around. Thought we were gonna get that with Leto, but you know......

you've said this multiple times now lol he'll last or he won't. There's no telling today.
