Leo or DDL will never play Joker
A bunch of people would've probably said the same thing about Jack Nicholson in the 80s and Joaquin Phoenix just 5 years ago.Leo or DDL will never play Joker
YesDidn’t they reach out to him about the Joker movie and he passed?
No, they didn't. Joaquin was always the first choice, Leo was just slightly rumored (probably some exec talk), and it's more than obvious due to the simple fact of how horribly miscast Leo would've been as Arthur Fleck.
The Joker movie was being developed by Scorsese before Todd Phillips even got a hold of it. Joaquin was Todd’s idea. No, they didn't. That was an exec idea and even the article mentions it, but sure dude, you know better than the people that worked on the movie that say that Joaquin was really the only guy (which is more than obvious by just simply looking at the character and how it's written)
Leo was a name thrown around by executives when WB was daydreaming about Scorsese directing. It says so in the article.Philips is not going to say Joaquin was his second choice in the press, come on.
Leo, at the very least, was seriously talked about.
Personally, no. They are a ton of amazing actors out there who should get their chance. I would prefer someone closer in age to Pattinson as well. Also, Arthur is Phoenix's take on the Joker. He helped craft the character and the portrayal. I don't think he can just come up with another version.
How about Dane DeHaan?
