The Joker Thread - Part 1

Trump deadliest person in the world? Lmao ahh I can’t..

Leo would be a terrible Joker. DDL would never play that character. What’s he gonna do? Act like a clown all day for 11 months, join the circus, make balloons for the crew while they sleep, and cut his own face?

I will safely bet ten million dollars and the lives of all loved ones on DDL never playing The Joker.

I'm not saying he will, I'm saying that's the only comic book character I can see him being remotely interested in at this point. And even then, I doubt he comes out of retirement.

But once again, you're pretty much saying the same thing a lot of people probably said about Nicholson and Phoenix.

Yeah. Leo would be awful as Joker. He's irritating enough with his screams. Imagine one of this with him under the makeup. LMAO.

I don’t see DiCaprio as Joker at all, nor is he anywhere near the kind of transformative character actor as DDL, Phoenix, or Ledger in his last few roles.

Probably depends more on if he wants that role...

Dicaprio did say he wasn't against playing someone in a comic book movie as long as it was an interesting role.
I think he could do something interesting, granted, I feel it'd be more on the mob boss style Joker which can still work in a somewhat classic way.

No, they didn't. Joaquin was always the first choice, Leo was just slightly rumored (probably some exec talk), and it's more than obvious due to the simple fact of how horribly miscast Leo would've been as Arthur Fleck.

The Joker movie was being developed by Scorsese before Todd Phillips even got a hold of it. Joaquin was Todd’s idea.

How about Dane DeHaan?

Philips is not going to say Joaquin was his second choice in the press, come on.

Leo, at the very least, was seriously talked about.

Leo was a name thrown around by executives when WB was daydreaming about Scorsese directing. It says so in the article.
It's profoundly obvious Todd wanted Phoenix though.

Personally, no. They are a ton of amazing actors out there who should get their chance. I would prefer someone closer in age to Pattinson as well. Also, Arthur is Phoenix's take on the Joker. He helped craft the character and the portrayal. I don't think he can just come up with another version.

Hmmm. I feel ya. I have a hard time seeing him do it, but I wouldn't be against it either. And like you said, there are definitely some great actors who'd love a go at it, I'm sure.
