The Joker Thread - Part 1

After Phoenix I really don't think WB will settle for anything else than an Academy Award Nominated actor.

Kirk Acevedo's Pennywise audition has some serious Ledger vibes.

This is why I suggested him as Two Face. The only thing was, I think he lacks the required likeability to play Harvey Dent. He's a very intense actor.

He'd probably be a better take on the "street crime lord" Joker that Leto was supposed to be.

I don't think they'll settle for anyone other than Phoenix.
I could see them hiring Driver or DiCaprio.

DiCaprio recently said he isn't against the idea of playing a comic book character, it just has to be the right one.

Also, since he wasn't cast as Alfred and I consider Joker's age to be irrelevant since nobody even knows his age in the comics, how about Ralph Fiennes?

I like him in any role. Man can do no wrong as far as I’m concerned. He’d crush. Agreed Jokers age is irrelevant.

Lots of great choices but even though Joaquin Phoenix's Joker isn't connected to this, I'm not expecting any Joker appearance and instead maybe just an easter egg or reference.

Joker at least having a cameo would be cool though and would fit into the story if rumors are true about it being like The Long Halloween. He could be locked away at Arkham and Batman visits him for questioning

My list in no particular order:
-Adam Driver
-Ralph Fiennes
-Rami Malek
-Leonardo DiCaprio.
-Taron Egerton
-Timothee Chalamet*
-Lucas Hedges*
-Evan Peters*

The asterisk is for choices that I think have potential but still need a bit more to fully prove themselves.

What kind of Joker do people even want to see?
We all talk about Casting the Joker, but how should the character be done outside of who plays him?

Do people want more of a gangster, a psychopath, a prankster, a lunatic or so?
What "Type" of Joker do people want to see their various casting choices play?

Joker in GENERAL is a psychopath so yes, I'd say something along the lines of that.

Geez, I'm glad WB didn't give Todd access to all of these characters because Reeves is trying to do a trilogy with a lot of these villains lol

No offence, but all of these choices suck.

Driver or Malek would be good.

I’d love DiCaprio, but that’s not happening.
Why We Haven't Seen Leonardo DiCaprio in Tights Yet

You never know, he's never actually said he'd never do it.
Last thing he said about the comic book genre was this:
You never know. You never know. They’re getting better and better as far as complex characters in these movies. I haven’t yet. But no, I don’t rule out anything.

I feel that with Nicholson, Ledger and now Phoenix, Joker is "prestige" enough he wouldn't feel dirty by taking on the role.
