Bettany played a great bat**** insane character in Gangster No. 1 and his all too short bit part in Legend (the Tom Hardy gangster movie).

That he did. That POV murder scene is still wild. Probably one of my favorite movies I've seen, always rewatchable lol.

I even think he'd make a great John Constantine. Did a fan trailer with him, infact.

Tbh, I'd kinda be interested in a Joker with a southern drawl lol. Especially in maybe a … Batman Western ??

Even if it'd draw Captain Spaulding comparisons lol. Or if he had no accent but occasionally puts it on mockingly here and there or whatever would be kind of amusing.​

trouble is, the way movies were shot then, the definition, it totally lends itself to that look, it worked.

today, the actor, character, in HD, different direction would came across totally different - unless the director kept him brief, worked the camera and angles and used the atmosphere well.

Also, it needs an actor that is naturally suited to that role/vibe.

I wouldn't focus on the joker either, like, not from his POv at all, I would keep him elusive. less you know, the better.

Someone mentioned his name a page back, and I thought it was a joke. I know his name was often tossed around prior to the Dark Knight, but Glover is a C-list (at best) actor, and you're not casting a C-list actor in this.
