The Joker Thread - Part 1

So, it looks like we're getting another shot at the DCEU now that the plans to incorporate Pattinson into that universe are underway. I was hoping for this tbh, because I was tired of having a DC Cinematic Universe without Batman and Superman. Naturally, The Joker should follow suit
Those rumors are just that, rumors.

Eh, I'd very much count Jared as a clean Joker because of the suits, makeup, hair, etc. I guess Cesar Romero counts as a clean Joker too.
Agreed- I think even Phoenix’s joker showered. Pretty sure Heath’s joker only bathed so he could infiltrate the Police funeral, and otherwise was pure grime.

Arthur Fleck seemed like one of those people who just looks naturally dirty (no offense to Phoenix at all btw). He looked clean when he was rehearsing his talk show appearance and when his makeup was freshly applied, but he still seemed like he hadn't brushed his teeth in a while.

I don't think WB really has an idea what they're doing, and if talks of one day crossing over with characters like Gadot's Wonder Woman or Momoa's Aquaman weren't present at the start of negotiations with Matt/Robert, then it'd be a helluva hurdle to cross in order to get them on board.

I think, at least from a story perspective, the most obvious thing to do is have the upcoming Flash movie hit a select restart on the universe, a la the actually flashpoint comic, or have a Rebirth esque mish-mash of old an new elements folded into one. But considering that Ezra Miller just assaulted a fan and that movie is on it's 20th director, really doubt it's gonna see the light of day (or will have any old DCEU connections).

I doubt Matt/Robert would agree to anything without a plan and as nice as it would be, I really doubt Flashpoint is part of a plan at this rate.

The tattoos and jewelry were a bit much, but visually that's about it in terms of the problems I had with him. It could've stood to be a bit more subtle though.
Yeah I don't think having a version of The Joker obsessed with vanity is inherently a bad idea, but that definitely wasn't an angle Ayer/Leto put a lot of thought into RIP I guess

who says all that didn't happen?

And I'd guess that they do indeed have a clue as to what they wanna do. Lol I personally wouldn't just **** on them like that.

Yeah, I guess I'm more just accustomed to being on the defense/assume worst case scenario WB given the past couples years with them.

New thread idea: which CBM characters were the smelliest? I think Ledger's Joker might have Rorschach beat.

All superheros would be a smelly bunch tbh. Running around in tight latex all day? I don’t care how much deodorant you use.

Phoenix and Ledger were both dirty, grimy Jokers. Leto dressed fancier but with those tattoos, grills, and Jared just being disgusting to look at most of the time, yeah I’d throw him into that dirt pile why not. Nicholson is the only clean Joker we’ve had.

Leto's not dirty, he's clean, he just looks like a ****ty blinged-out gangbanger.

Leto's Joker had a clear sense of vanity, it just happened to also be a very weird and poorly depicted sense of vanity.

I think they've all had some form of vanity, just expressed in different ways. Fleck was hugely self-aggrandizing and loved being all dressed-up fancy.

Yea, I can't imagine him putting deodorant on, and it's pretty obvious he is never washing that hair or even washing his makeup off until it's caked onto his face like rotting compost, except for when he poses as a policeman.

Funnily enough, that same source said that they may/were going to use Flashpoint to retcon MoS, BvS, and Justice League out of the DCEU and incorporate Battinson.

Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock when he was still getting used to the symbiote?

He seemed to have used his loneliness to victimize himself along with his numerous mental disorders. The pathological laughter probably was unintentional, and he may have hated attention from THAT, but he very much craved attention.

Yep. He's reveling in the mob's worship at the end. And before that he loves the notoriety he's indirectly getting for the subway killings, and just bursting to be all "HEY IT WAS ME EVERYBODY!" on live TV.

As far as 10 actors who can play Joker to Pattinson's Bruce Wayne/Batman

10- Iwan Rheon
9- Bill Skarsgard
8- Will Poulter
7- Jake Gyllenhaal
6- James Franco
5- Macaulay Culkin
4- Michael Pitt
3- Caleb Landry Jones
2- Leonardo DiCaprio
1- Rami Malek

Rami is my new pick for Joker and honestly I can definitely see it

Only good suggestion in your list.

Well Gyllenhaal did play Nightcrawler which is a similar character study to Joker but I chose Malek because of the fact that he's a damn good actor Academy Award winning but also he is able to disappear into roles case in point Mr Robot or Bohemian Rhapsody as Freddie Mercury
