The Joker Thread - Part 1

Totally down for boogeyman Joker. Not sure if somebody like Gilgun could pull that off though.

Pre-movie SpongeBob is the only era I acknowledge.

Superman in Batman v Superman:

I say pre-2018 only because the animation didn't suck then. Now they all emote like gmod characters :-/

Which one is Superman supposed to be??

I think Streep built a solid filmography early on, with films like Sophie's Choice, The Deer Hunter, Kramer vs. Kramer and A Cry In The Dark. She is a good actress, but I think these movies probably cemented her as a big time actress, and that's probably true of a lot of actors. What I appreciate about her is she doesn't typically phone it in, the same of which can't be said about a lot of established actors.

I agree with you on Kiefer, that his best days were in the 80's/90's, when he typically played a heel. His role in Stand By Me is particularly great, since that's a role that could easily have been hammy, but he plays the character with understated menace.
His character there almost felt tangible. I dealt with my fair share of bullies in elementary school, but I don't want to imagine how I would've reacted to THAT guy.

I haven't seen Lost Boys in years but again, I remember him selling the crazed biker vampire thing really well. When I see him playing those d-bags, I get why people like him so much. I'm not a huge fan of all the "orderly" characters he plays now.

An almost antique Joker sounds really creepy; it would fit into the timeless aspect of the character, like he's lived through a whole lifetime. Not totally sure what that would look like though. A daisy lapel on his jacket could go a long way.

I mean, it's not like it's super super easy to tell whether some suits were made a few years ago or about fifty decades ago.

hmmm...

I’d love to see an Alex Delarge inspired Joker and I think Caleb Landry Jones would fit that style perfectly.

I still really like him for the part but I have to admit that the guy is a little cringey outside of movies :funny:
He seems like he tries really hard to be weird.

I keep seeing Starr be fan cast as Reverse Flash, but I honestly would rather he not play any other supervillains. Homelander's up there with Heath's Joker as one of my favourites and I'd rather not see Joker as Homelander in clown makeup, or Homelander in a Reverse Flash suit.

There's no way Starr's Joker would be anything like Homelander anyway.

Not that I want him.

Sure, but it's still Anthony Starr, with his face and voice. All I'd see would be Homelander doing his best Joker impression. I'd just rather we get someone who hasn't really been in anything comic book related, at the bare minimum someone who hasn't been in anything comic book related in a while ala Dafoe.
