BTW what about Josh Brolin for an older Batman.... Watched Goonies the other day and realized he doesnt have a natural country accent like most people would think.

Sorry guys i must preface most of my post are done in haste. Most of the time just quoting a post takes too much time as i am mostly posting at work :). Some of you are clearly advanced forum posters i can tell by your signatures and avatars. Fo rme this casting idea is a fantastic opportunity to share ideas on a subject i enjoy. however i dont always have the time to genuinely argue or defend my choices. Just enough time to post my ideas. But what are your thoughts........ in the past i have seen suggestions for rumored cast from years ago like gossling timberlake pine and foxx. My question is.... are we suggesting who we think could actually be cast or who we think would be the best fit like pine or bale? I get confused sometimes. Thanks. maybe i will take the time to repost choices with reasons behind my choice of them. You guys made me give up on my idea for ackles for Batman a long time ago even though i believe he could play the part in a fantastic way so one day i will defend my case :)

The cast can be anything you want, but most (not all, some posted a comedy one, some people did JLI etc) people are going to be posting a cast of actors who:

A) Have proven their abilities.
B) Don't necessarily look 100% like their respective roles.

Which is why if posting a cast that is for aesthetic purposes, you should point it out, as then people won't react as harshly if they don't have much acting experience/talent.

For example, here is my (preferred) cast for the "big" Leaguers:

Superman- Henry Cavill
Batman- Luke Evans
Wonder Woman- Hayley Atwell
Green Lantern- Ryan Reynolds
Flash- Neil Patrick Harris
Aquaman- Joel Edgerton
Martian Manhunter- Doug Jones
Chiwitel Ejiofor- Cyborg

Midnight Black and Young Superman: I don't agree with you. Josh Hartnett would make a better Supes than Bats. He's got the right look for Kal-El, he's got the right height for Kal-El.

Yes, he does. But as I pointed out earlier, his acting style is more suited to Bruce Wayne than Clark Kent. I wouldn't mind him as Superman at all. My point is, with Cavill as Superman we could utilize Hartnett as Batman.

Which makes me wonder, how perfect lookwise would the casting have been if we swapped Hartnett and Cavill!

Also, DRCDarkKnight, I hope we can get past our tiff from last time around. I just look at that as two individuals passionately defending their own beliefs.

I was basically trying to say what Llama so eloquently put forward in the previous post.

How about Alex O'Loughlin for Batman. Has the look just not sure about the acting chops. I've only seen him a few things.

Alex-O-Loughlin.jpg

I like it. He has the look and build.

He turns 37 this year, but that shouldn't be a major problem.

aNarcHy2day: Then they have to do trick filming if Cavill is going to look taller than Hartnett :)

IMO Alex only looks the part in that black and white picture. If you google him none of the other pics look Batmaney lol And i think he's currently in rehab (RDJ) :)

I just imagined Batman not being too much of a talker in the movie. Do you think the movie will delve that much into there personas. I dont see them having the time really. Maybe a masked removed now and again but not alot of bruce wayne. Some of my choices like i have said before are about getting the closest look to the comic books because not being a hollywood casting agent myself we only know about what they have put on film so far. I mean who would have expected Hemsworth to blow up the way he did before Star Trek. I mean up until that point he had only done TV. WHich goes back to my previous picks that look just like the comic book versions of themselves and maybe they can act. Alan Ritchson is spot on for Flash. Has done superhero before and was selected for the next Hunger games movie so he is most definitely deserving of being in a blockbuster movie it would appear. Sorry Denny most of this wasnt directed at you :)

Good post. Also don't you mean the way Hemsworth blew up after Star Trek? He was virtually an unknown, but stole the scene and became a household name, or at least a "Who's that?!" "It-guy" after the movie came out. I remember watching the film thinking this guy is going to be the next big thing and he was only in the first few minutes of the film. Just goes to show lol.

Another good post. Don't feel like your suggestions are stupid...they aren't. Also don't feel the need to defend them to death. A simple explanation is fine IMO.

I am also looking at actors that look more the part rather than extraordinary actors that have been in other superhero, action, or drama films that have had the chance to prove that they have acting ability.

As I mentioned in a few pages back I'm not looking for an Oscar or Emmy winner, but a solid actor that looks the part, more so than a great actor that doesn't. I think both types of actors can do an amazing job with the right script and director, but I would rather see someone that looks the part in this case.

IMO Cavill could have made an outstanding Bruce/Bats also. However, now that he is Superman I think Hartnett would compliment him in a Bruce Wayne role and vice-a-versa. In many of his roles Hartnett has played that dark, silent, brooding type. A few instances that come to mind where his acting made me think of Bruce where in 30 Days of Night and Sin City.

However, I would be fine if they go with another actor for Bruce, that looks or can look the part with hair dye, etc. etc.

Height isn't that much of an issue cause Cavill is 6'1 I think and Hartnett is 6'3. So with 3-5 inch boots Cavill can appear to be the same size if not taller when the two actors are close in the same schot. Plus whomever plays Bats will appear taller anyway if not shorter than 6'1 because of the ears on the cowl.

Just look at Vin Diesel and The Rock in Fast 5. Vin is roughly 6'1 with boots and the Rock is 6'3/6'5, but they easily used camera angles and boot lifts to make them look roughly close in height.

IMO Alex only looks the part in that black and white picture. If you google him none of the other pics look Batmaney lol And i think he's currently in rehab (RDJ) :)

Alex O'Loughlin from Hawaii 5-0??? He don't look like Bruce lol. He looks more like a Flash type IMO.

I didn't know he was in rehab. Where did you read/see that?

Chiwitel Ejiofor- Cyborg

So you want an older Cyborg for the film? I'm fine with that I haven't really seen a Cyborg past his 20s yet.

Also, would you want Doug Jones to voice J'onn or another actor? Do you want Doug to be the human form of J'onn or another actor?

I would like to see NPH back on the big screen. IMO he is one of those actors that looks better and is more appreciated with age. I know he struggled in his late teens and 20s, but he has really found his niche in the last 8 years IMO.

First movie

Superman - Henry Cavill
Batman - Andrew Lincoln / Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Wonder Woman - Hayley Atwell
Green Lantern - Ryan Reynolds / Seann William Scott (Gardner) / Idris Elba (The ONLY time I'd be alright with John Stewart)
The Flash - Aaron Paul (I like that he doesn't look like a traditional superhero. Since he's the superhero fan that becomes a superhero.)
Aquaman - Charlie Hunnam
Cyborg - Donald Glover

And in the "Line-Up" thread I brought up a situation where, for a sequel, you'd have to remove three members and add four. My version was letting Green Lantern and Flash go on to their own further solo movies and Cyborg on to a Titans movie. While the big 3 star in their own solo movies and the team-ups.

My sequel additions would be:
Martian Manhunter - Giancarlo Esposito
Booster Gold - Justin Timberlake
Zatanna - Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Hawkgirl - Mila Kunis

I'd have the character be in his late 20's maybe. Mainly because there aren't really any young actors who have impressed me massively and make me think they could handle the role.

Also, would you want Doug Jones to voice J'onn or another actor? Do you want Doug to be the human form of J'onn or another actor?

Doug can play both J'onn J'onnz and John Jones. I'm reasonably confident he could perform a voice that sounds both wise and otherworldly, but also commanding.

In terms of look alone, he exudes Barry Allen. With the end of HIMYM, I reckon Flash would be a role where he can display his talent in a more serious role.

Aquaman and Superman, right there? Haha, I just couldn't stop myself from posting this :)

Wow that casting is definitely fan inspired lol:woot:

You are aware that Chiwitel Ejiofor is and looks well out of his 20s right? I don't think he could play a convincing late 20 year old. He is much older looking IMO.

There are plenty of fine black actors that could play Cyborg.

I agree with NPH on playing Barry Allen though, but since he did the voice in the cartoons I highly doubt he has a chance.

I can't even pronounce his name, he must be AMAZING.

Pretty good cast there. Really nice.

Danny Glover for MM. There I said IT! Come at me Majik I'm ready. :argh: :o

Christopher Judge, Peter Mensah, Colin Salmon would be my choices for MM.

I don't think he looks his age there are times when I see pictures and I think "What? That can't be him." Donald Glover could be okay, but I've only seen him in one thing.

what about David Oyelowo(Rise Of The Apes,Red Tails,The Help,Lincoln) for Cyborg he is only 36
