Idris Elba I think would make a good John Stewart or J'onn J'onzz, but he's connected to way to many franchisees right now (THOR, Ghost Rider, Pacific Rim etc.)

I'd still love to see Shemar Moore as John Stewart and Doug Jones as Martian Manhunter.

The race thing doesn't bother me. It's just the fact that The Rock and the nolanverse are like polar opposites.

That being said, if this wasn't the nolanverse, a buddy-cop GLCorps movie with The Rock as Stewart, and Channing Tatum, Sean William Scott, Marky Mark, or someone brotacular as Guy Gardner, would be highly entertaining I imagine.

I was actually just thinking about that the other day and I thought he could possibly be WB's potential for GL in the near future. I could see that happening.

Tbh Shemar Moore is who I'd pick as perfect casting for John Stewart

I'm of the opinion that there is no "perfect" casting anymore lol...just perfect acting....and to a degree perfect looks. However, it is rare IMO when the two align perfectly.

So many talented black, half black, quarter black actors could play Stewart that I'm not concerned. I just don't want him to be a "pretty boy" per se, but someone that looks like he has gotten his hands dirty from multiple tours in war. Shamar is fine as are a lot of other black actors. However, I do not see it going to Shamar unless the studios are really impressed with his role on Criminal Minds.....which he does good IMO.

Yeah the Rock would make a good anything almost, but I think he is wrong for the part. Not because of something stupid like "skin tone" but because of his size and presence. I don't think that would be a good fit necessarily for John Stewart. Plus, I want him to play Black Adam and maybe even Capt. Marvel if the studios really want him too. However, I haven't seen him as a bad guy really since Doom and his charisma would just make the character of Black Adam that more appealing to me.

Also, does anyone else think this Hercules movie he is going to be in should have went to Joe Manganiello? He would make a good Hercules, Hawkman, etc. IMO. Casting the Rock just seems to be a money grab IMO, though I get it lol. I'm sure the movie will do well though.

Chadwick Boseman. Great pick. I love this idea, he definitely has the look and chops. 42 is a WB production, so he's obviously already on their radar. There's a really good chance that he could be our Green Lantern

We are on the same wave length here...Gerard Butler would do well as Ares, but I imagine his character would be much like the Ares seen in Wrath of the Titans with a mix of Leonidus

Also, thanks for the article on the Rock Lencho....I don't see Chadwick as GL, but maybe after 20lbs of muscle I could buy it.
