Got an article on that because I don't remember that?

He was there for reshoots.

Loved the trailer! has me even more excited than I was before! I love that DC is (for now at least) still not showing us any Superman. based on what Gal said in an interview "Superman fans are going to love this" has me even more excited and think Superman is a much bigger part than many of us initially thought.

However, can someone explain to me all of this Flashpoint talk? I must have missed something. Is this happening in the JL film? Flash solo film? is it just speculation or fact?

I don't think the reshoots are a sign of doa as people are making it out to be. I believe Whedon is there to punch up the script like he has done for years. The difference being he's there to help edit the film in post along with the editor, and all the producers. I'm confident the movie will be fine by the time November rolls around. This is not the disaster Han Solo is, or Rogue one was.

I'd prefer that. I don't want anything rebooted yet (some things can just be forgotten). I also don't really want them to be doing too much non-core material right now before they have properly built the DCEU foundations and all the Leaguers have had solos at least.

If they're going to reboot DCEU, it'll have to be further down the line. But Flashpoint is being put into production along with films like Wonder Woman 2, so I tend to think that it's a film by itself especially if it's based on Geoff Johns' Flashpoint from 2011 where Barry Allen is no longer the Flash and the Justice League members live in an alternated reality. IMO too much for the general audience to get around that concept if you try to tie it to the current DCEU.

Good points. I hope that is the case, but I'd still rather they just didn't bother putting resources into stuff like this till the DCEU has a solid base and momentum behind it.

Many of us think it's a definite good thing that Whedon is taking such an active role. Only Snyder fans who want just his vision should feel rightly aggrieved that they're not going to get that. For the rest of us who see Snyder as having his good points, but also many flaws, all this news about how extensive Whedon's input is can only be seen as a very good thing. Far from doom and gloom... things are looking up! :woot:

Momoa shot for about a week and got a wrap party. Don't know where the 2 week thing for him comes from. lol

Anyway, all you gotta do is look at the new trailer....You aint getting rid of the Snyder feel, even if you hate it, so too damn bad. lawd. Best of both worlds imo.

agreed

That news about Cavill's mustache is ****ing hilarious. Cesar Romero would be proud.

Some still do not understand what planned and unplanned reshoots are? The other studio plans the time and money for reshoots before production starts. so even if on Thor 3 they used also 25 millions its from the original budget. i think with JL they will spend extra 25 millions.

Yes, this is true. Justice League budget will be around 275-300 million, I think.

So that cavill pic from way back then might be from one of the reshoots. Good for supes and his fan herolee.

The way to remove the mustache from Cavill is very simple. you only need a lot of money because....you dont have the time. They will track his head and match the 3D CGI model(cgi stunt model that they already created for action scenes) with the same lighting. Then they will use the part on the cgi model that they need to hide his mustache. the process will be 100% the same like with Ralph Fiennes on Harry Potter.

My thoughts on this newest development....this is good thing and actually eased my concerns. They're leaving Snyder's action set pieces alone and letting Whedon handle dialogue and character.

PERFECT.

That is perfect. We're getting the best of both worlds. No one does action like Snyder and Whedon is a master at witty dialogue, I'm cool with that so long as its not too quippy. Just don't touch Zack's action, I want all the over the top Aquaman parademon surfing in this movie I can get.

The only thing that confounds me is why the F can't Paramount just spend the $50 bucks to make a fake moustache for Henry?! Why is Warner forced to digitally remove it? Don't actors wear fake facial hair all the time in films?? isn't that what these professionally paid make up and hair designers are there for?

I love Snyder's films but Whedon is the better story teller in how he structures his film. So I also think it's a fortunate thing that Whedon could be brought in this post production stage. However some of this talk about them reshooting the film several times is so ridiculous to me. When you are working on a creative project plans change and that's perfectly normal.

Tend to agree, my only gripe, as I noted elsewhere, is, no matter who's directing reshoots, no matter the film, 9/10 those scenes tend to stick out like a sore thumb due to physical differences in actors. Like, Henry Cavill getting his beard digitally removed def. worries me, but then again, I guess these computer wizards can do anything these days. While they're at it, I hope they add a little stubble to Affleck in the 'exploding penguins' scene. And I really hope Wagner is still acting cinematographer

Could he not just get his tache waxed? And get his ass and eyebrows done at the same time?

Whedon is a skilled enough director to make his footage match Snyder's.

The real impact would be the dialogue. Terrio wrote the screenplay, so the real question is not Snyder/Whedon, but rather Terrio/Whedon. As far as we know Whedon added some interstitial scenes and character beats. Lets see how that blends in with the rest of the movie. I hope Whedon doesnt **** it up. Its upto him now. He hasnt impressed me with his dialogue in the Avengers movies. Hope he steps up his game.

Edit : In other news, Variety posted that same article six times and with diffrent headlines on twitter. Damn they are hungry for clicks lol

I think people should take that "slate" with a grain of salt. Everything but Batman is up in the air until Justice League comes out
