Affleck reacting to WB butchering JL [colorized]

Exactly. Which is why I always smile when I hear someone say Zack doesnt get these characters, compared to say someone else or the fans.

I mean where was that Barry that apprehended criminals with confidence, that Barry we saw in Suicide Squad saying "No honor among thieves eh?" .

Ego boost? Idk. I came to the conclusion a few days back after realising all the stuff that was cut in favor of the stuff kept it...nobody is that inept. Not Wb, not Whedon. I really smell foul here. I mean you cant tell me Joss didnt realise how ****ing out of place and laughable his additions were to those scenes, or his do-overs. And if he didnt, that's just sad. When he did complete scenes, those were atleast decent.

But all the stuff cut man...its like an intentional sabotage, as much as it doesnt make any sense.

I dont think it was intentional sabotage at all. Warner Bros dumped 300 mill into this, believe me, they wanted a successful movie. They were just so desperate to complety re-do as much of Snyder's film as humanly possible that they thought the ends would justify the means.

I bet when Whedon was screening his final draft to the execs, everyone knew the movie looked like an ugly mess but they were betting the farm that the change in tone would win people over. Then...they lost the farm. Lol

What does this mean? Lately he's been posting a lot of JL bts images...

He looks photorealistic and tangible in Snyder's version. He looks like a character in "Who framed Roger rabbit?" in Whedon's.

It's literally the same imagine my guy only one is upside down. But you do you...

WB should have just sucked it up, took the criticisms, and delayed it for at least 6 months.
Place Darkseid in it, touch the CG up ( a lot), flesh out the characters more, and there you go.

hindsight's always 20/20. they probably thought they can get more money out of it by not delaying.

but all the things you listed would've improved the movie greatly, yes.

Agreed. However I also believe that they should've also bit the bullet and put out Snyder's movie and then move in another direction afterwards.

Zack is up to something with JL. No WAY he's posting behind the scenes stuff for no reason. Hopefully his posts mean something....

When someone said there's a reason for his recent vero posts he replied with a winky face.

They didn't delay because had they'd done so the execs wouldn't have gotten their bonus.

Well if he isn't then this will have been a bigger tease than the deleted scene from "The Wolverine", which showed the actual comic book costume for the character at the end of the film.

I want to believe that this is all leading up to it being revealed that we will be getting the Snyder cut but I don't want to get my hopes up and end up disappointed again.:csad:

Other than being the architect of the entire DCEU, casting all the major players and establishing the feel of the world itself, Snyder set up all the character arcs and one singular overarching story. He clearly had a plan for a saga spanning multiple movies and IPs that involved time travel, Darkseid, New Genesis, Apokolips and whatever else.

We know what happens when you don't have a plan in place. Even a brand as ever-green and robust as Star Wars can falter. I see the last movie in that trilogy not even breaking 1 billion, come 2019. Even if it does, it's on a sharp downwards trajectory. That's what happens when you don't chart the course. You get a franchise that falters and doesn't deliver on the things it set up. The visions clash and you get a mess. Now that Johns is out of the picture (likely the person responsible for Snyder being ushered out) and Walter Hamada is in charge, it's possible that they do a 180, get Snyder back on, get his movie finished and released, re-consolidate the core fanbase and move forward from there.

After the whole Darkseid, time travel saga is over and done with, you have a natural reset point if you need it. The movies that weren't servicing that overarching Darkseid narrative, already had creative independence. Patty was given full control of her movie for example. So, come that natural reset point, all you'd need to do at that point is get someone on board to be the architect of the main overarching central story and keep going with them while other creatives join the sandbox and make their own movies on the side, with only minor oversight just to maintain consistency and continuity.

I didn't really believe much of this, but yeah now things got interesting.

Under normal circumstances, yea there's no way a studio would sabotage their own tentpole. But keep in mind that while everyone wants a good film, the ones who don't really care are the higher ups who are rushing this out for a bonus. These are the same guys who see their future with the company in question if the ATT merger happens, so the well being of the film and the company is none of their concern really. They just want that fat bonus so they can bounce when the time comes.
