This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]531327[/split]
Seems like Whedon is doing an awful lot of reshoots though, and his will be the final edit. 70% Snyder, 30% Whedon?
I can live with a hypothetical 70% Snyder, 30% Whedon film. Hopefully he strengthens without diminishing Zack's strengths. Then set Joss loose on Batgirl once he's settled into the DCEU atmosphere. Could be the dawn of a new day.
If Snyder and WB didn't have a solid relationship, they'd have fired him. The Lord and Miller thing shows us that directors can be let go late in the game. And even if they felt it too problematic to fire him, they could have simply let him step down amidst his tragedy without extending his first look deal.
At the end of the day, Snyder gets his films done quietly and on time. He brings in A-list talent that seems to genuinely enjoy working with him and comes back for more. And more than anything, he's brought in a sizable profit. And when the PR nightmare that was post-release BvS hit, Snyder took the brunt of the hit like a champ. And just for a little icing on this diabetes inducing cake, the man sacrificed his own privacy amid a heartbreaking family tragedy just so WB wouldn't have to deal with bad press.
So yeah, I think WB and Zack recognized that some changes needed to be made to maximize their chances for success. But I've got no reason to think they have a bad relationship at all.
Out of interest how long were Lord & Miller filming on Han Solo?
Five months of shooting, I believe.
Oh wow that must be a good chunk of the film. Wonder if whoever they get will scrap what they have or do some reshoots of certain parts aswell as finish the film.

A part of me wishes that this film could have included Darkseid's Female Furies, especially to see Wonder Woman have a fight scene/brawl with some of them.
(e.g. Leia in bikini armor no longer being able to be apart of any marketting)
.
Just listened to Elfman's B'89 soundtrack yet again, this **** still gives me goosebumps man. I hope Elfman is bringing this same energy to this movie.
They're doing reshoots twice. Late August this year and then early 2018.
That's why, btw, Batman On Film rumor about reshoots during principal photography on Justice League were dumb. If you do reshoots, you have no choice but to extend the production or wait till you have a cut, work on it, and then do reshoots. Han Solo is doing both. It's going to cost a lot of money.
They had 3 weeks left of principal shooting..which is insane to drop out now.
I'm really curious as to what the creative difference was, as my first thought rose to Han being a womanizer which Disney seems to be against (e.g. Leia in bikini armor no longer being able to be apart of any marketting)
However, as for the "re-shoots"
IT already came out that the reason the re-shoots take place over a month is because of how hard the actor schedules are, Jason Mamoa, is literally flying over from australia to leave aquaman to film a scene or two, Henry Cavill is working on MI7? (or 8?), and many more of the actors/actresses are busy as well.
The only thing I hope for DC is to let their directors fail on their own accord, and not have situations like Josh Tranks' FF4, Spider-man 3, etc, where the studio forces the directors to do something they don't want too.
Yeah we might get one bad movie, but the good ones will admit they needed changes (which sounds like Zack has done.), to make it better. And this wasn't because he thought B vs S was bad but that it could have been better, people who have this attitude I have so much more appreciation for.
From my understanding a rough draft of JL was shown to a single theater and he got feedback from the audience about anything they'd like to see, etc, I'm really curious if this is a common studio practice or not, but I do think its a good idea (keep in mind this is his family, producers etc.).
I don't dislike Danny Elfman, he's just only memorable to me when he makes music for Tim Burton.
I'm just wondering does this include Alice in Wonderland? Did Elfmam score that? This is where Burton became a chore to me.
Can you link me to the theme that gave you goosebumps?
