I'd say it's human nature. A person that has done much more good is more likely to be forgiven for their flaws than a person that has done bad. Marvel built up a huge amount of goodwill towards their fans that fans are willing forgive some of their flaws because for the most part, Marvel has been successful at what they've done so far.
It's the same Christopher Nolan and his movies. That's why many people are willing forgive the flaws of TDKR.
It would have to take a monumental Green Lantern/X-Men Origins-sized disaster to get fans to turn on them.
