think it would have been better if red mist/chris d'amico's real identity was revealed after the fact, not in the intro. just really makes his betrayal have less of an impact. cage sounded like he was doin shatner impression, not batman. i liked the movie but didnt love it.

I realized when I saw the movie that doing the same as the comic wouldn't have worked on film since the audience wouldn't be fooled for one moment.

^Yeah, it'd just be impossible for people to not notice that Red Mist was Mclovin.

Wow, I loved the Sunshine music in that video.

They used it beautifully in the Hit-Girl night vision scene, IMO.

Movie only made an estimated $4.4 million this weekend, shame, I was hoping for a better drop than that :csad: .

Hope it could pass 50 mil domestically soon. I hate that it can't make more than Last Song, spewww~

Domestic: $42,160,000 58.8%
+ Foreign: $29,600,000 41.2%
= Worldwide: $71,760,000

Ace of Knaves, you're following Chloe on twitter too? lol I'm still not getting any tweet replies from "Christy-Mintz" :/
I got 6 replies from Chloe :p

damn watchmen made more than this film at least watchmen had better marketing

I just asked her if she saw Back to the Future. She said "YEA!" lol good to know she's watching movies before her time.

Although this movie didnt due well in the box office, imo it'll probably end up one of the better movies of 2010. Had some very amazing intense scenes which i wasnt expecting but i loved. It was such a very well done movie, it kinda shocks me it didnt do so well in the box office, probably of the negative reviews of hit girl swearing too much and being too mature, way before the movie came out which probably affected who could see the movie (moms and all)

I think this is just the stereotypical cult favourite film. Not massive when it was first released.

But is greatly loved way into the future.

i think the trailers and or tv spots should of been cut different they were garnered too much to teens and they couldn't even see it.

I would of focused on how no one helps a person in need in some of the trailers i think it would of hit at home more than goofy pop music

also is this a sign that different takes on the SH genre dont make bank with watchmen and kick ass's box office return

How does the box office compare to Zombieland..? I've always thought of this film as the superhero equlivant of Zombieland...

Zombieland

Budget: $23mil
Box Office: $102mil

...there's no comparison. Sadly. :csad:

I must say it saddens me to look at the impressive drops for a movie as terrible as Clash of the Titans and know that that trash has wonderful word of mouth, yet most people seem to still think Kick-Ass is a B-Spider-Man movie. It's a real shame.

But I saw it for the second time in theaters with a few friends this weekend. They weren't comic fans and were turned off by the trailer saying it looked like a "bad kids moive" and one really loved it and the other thought it was okay (better than expected). Considering their hate for Sherlock Holmes and COTT though, that is a win.

People just need to see this film. And I perused the graphic novel. The narrative and tonal changes of the film (while the Katie and jetpack bits being silly) were for the best, in all honesty.

Ah well.
