1 Thing i must say is that Aaron Johnson's Dave Lizewski/Kick Ass is more engaging/likable/ and a guy to root for more than Tobey Mcguire as Spiderman for 3 movies.

Gotta' disagree. Whether you thought Maguire was a good adaptation of Peter Parker or not (I personally thought he got the Lee/Ditko/early Romita, but they never expanded to later iterations) the reason those movies are so beloved by the mainstream and used to be loved by fanboys (before they overwatched these movies ad nauseum) is just how good Maguire is at gaining audience empathy and support.

Johnson was very good, but you could see he was patterned in some scenes after Maguire and given many scenes in the film are shot and located in areas o look like the Maguire movies is Vaughn's own nod to those films he likes. Maguire made a very memorable Spidey. My opinion, of course.

And you can definitely see in Kick Ass, Kick Ass himself has lots of similarities with Spidey

Yeah, I love this movie.

Just saw it. Very close to the GN, even though there are some significant changes. Overall, I´d say the movie is a little less cynical than the GN, but I can live with it. But it keeps the freshness and wit of the premise, and like the GN, manages to be both an acidic satire and a loving tribute to superhero comics.

Such a powerful, emotional... yet epically awesome scene.

Seriously, it's one of my favourite scenes in a film ever. Hyperbolic? Maybe. But **** it, it was that good IMO.

I was actually on the edge of my seat willing her to save them. Gave me chills down my spine.

Then when it ended i was like Well not literally, but it was gut wrenching.

Yeah, I agree. What's EXTREMELY weird, is how well it worked.

So true. I saw this again the other day but with my dad this time. Even he was like "WOW" at that scene. He was mesmerized by it. I dunno if he got choked up or anything... he wouldn't ever let it show anyway

I saw it for my fifth time last night, first time in about two weeks. The crowd was much bigger than before, and that was on a Sunday night (usually they're up in the air on business). Still love it as much as ever, and still wish they'd release the complete Orginal Score. Seeing it again tomorrow night.
