I still think Feig ought to just shut the hell up. If he wants the movie to speak for itself, stop doing interviews where you feel the need to tell everyone about the test screening's standing ovation (from a crowd carefully selected to give the best possible buzz on social media --- just like with F4) and just let the movie speak for itself. He has come off as an overly defensive ass throughout this process.
That said, I've always found Feig to be a bit too self-congratulatory for my liking. Its honestly a trend I have seen with most modern directors. You don't see Spielberg and Scorcese and the likes going in front of cameras and bragging up their own movies. But the new generation of directors are eager to make it as much about themselves as they are the movies, constantly doing media appearances, magazine covers, etc. You see it from JJ Abrams, Zack Snyder, basically everyone in this new generation. And I don't mind them giving interviews as much as I mind the reactionary nature of the interviews. They are almost always given for the sake of saying how misunderstood their movies are, rebuking the "haters", etc. Or in Abrams case for the sake of self-promotion. Its almost as if he is not content with people praising his movies, he wants them to be praising him.
Like I said, its probably a generation thing. I just find it off-putting. It comes off as very insecure.

I can't wait to watch this next Sunday!
Hopefully its good! I love Paul Feig's other films such as Spy and Bridesmaids! So I really hope this is another good one. If not, well I'm ready to embrace the chaos!

She's just trying to appeal to the guys. Like those chicks who have no female friends.

Then what about Devin Faraci? He's clearly on the "Haters are misogynists no matter why they're haters" bandwagon.
His behaviour is appalling. He's been on Twitter flaming anyone who disagrees with him. He told one Tweeter, who said it wasn't fair to characterise everyone who doesn't like the movie as sexist, that "you have fetal alcohol syndrome", amongst other things. And he's a professional movie reviewer.
