I wonder if Moria will show up in the film and will be Wolfsbane will be her adopted daughter.

I wouldn't be against Moira making an appearance, even if small, especially if it turns out that none of the X-Men we saw in Apocalypse would show up. Though I doubt Boone is thinking of using Moira.

Which mutants are gonna be in this one, do we know yet?

Well Josh boone teased Magik, Wolfsbane, Mirage, Cannonball, Sunspot and Warlock on Instagram some time ago.

Xavier will probably be in the movie going by rumour and kinberg confirmation and rumour suggested Storm might possibly appear also

If Fox play this right, New Mutants could be the shot in the arm that this franchise needs.

I'm curious to see some more updates, time period included. Still not confirmed right? I hope if it is period, it does more with the 80's aesthetic than X:A did.

I would be surprised if they included warlock as the x-men franchise has not really delved into the alien stuff yet.

I wouldn't.prior to Apocalypse release even Singer hinted at them using shiar In future.now that he is gone that Is even more likely.Boone confirmed warlock in post with other characters.New mutants is defently going into magic with demon bear.

I wonder if Rose Byrne still has one film in her contract (that is if it hasn't expired).

I know it's been responded to already, but Boone's concept art already had Lockheed too. So yeah, Boone seems to be bringing the one-two punch of magic and aliens in New Mutants.

If done right each character could offer something very cool on screen that we have not seen much of before, apart from Wolfsbane. She will just be a she-wolf? Not very exciting. At least I hope her transformation is cool.

To save cost I am guessing Warlock will have an unstable human form, like that fan made film.

Well at least in the script its still "New Mutants" instead of "X-Men: The New Mutants"

Do they even need Moira? I like Rose but I don't think she was needed in Apocalypse and she was mostly there to play as love interest to Xavier which was a bit cheesey.

.... Oh yeah she also randomly activated Apocalypse's sun energy machine... And they never tried to address it later in the film. Jeez Louise!

Do they even need Moira?

Moira serves a couple purposes for me (Assuming they'll be married by 1987-9 when this'll take place IMO)

Wife of Charles & Headmistress of Xavier's

She could be a adoptive mother of Wolfsbane

Hint at Proteus Saga throughout the next movies

A human at the mansion. Xavier envisioned humans & mutants living there

The more females the better

Also gives Xavier something to do so he can be off with her studying mutant genes in the sub basement or teaching students instead of getting screen time

They tied up the two trilogies with the Apocalypse cast, particularly after bringing Havok and Moira back from First Class and explaining how Jean, Storm, Prof X and Cyke came together. So I guess Apocalypse sort of ties into Singer's X1. Which is why it's been enough prequels. Let's not dwell on the past!

The thing is when First Class trilogy was like announced. People expected it to introduce the younger version of Cyke, Ororo and Jean. And they already did.

People should take note that when they go back to present, Cyke, Storm, Beast, Jean would still be there and Rogue, Ice, Kitty, Colossus are also there. The only question mark is Nightcrawler. I don't really care about Quicksilver joining the team, he never joined the team in the comics and he's not really a X-Men in my eyes. While Jubilee was forgettable in Apocalypse and she is easily replaceable with another actress or another character.

It would much easier for the general public if the X-Men, Deadpool and X-Force are in the same time period like just like Dceu and MCu. Only time could tell if New Mutants being set in 1989 would be a good thing or not.

It doesn't really matter whether its the past, present or future at this point as Logan is clearly set in the much further future (late 2020s).

Its not about when its set, its about the characters.

That end scene of DoFP is another example of continuity shomtiniuity. They won't be tied to that in anyway.

It'll be very sad if it flops because this is the first real "marvel" super hero movie with more female team members than male.

Storm

Mirage
Magik
Wolfsbane

Cannonball
Sunspot

Please get this right!

You don't believe that

I do believe that, it doesn't matter whether a film is set in later 2020s like Logan or set in deep space like guardians of the galaxy, it doesn't matter if its set in Middle-earth or the hogwarts universe, its about the characters and the journey, not about whether people talk about twitter or whatever the next big pop culture reference is.
