continuity has never been a priority for the x-franchise. I think there will be some cameos in new mutants to help sell it to the audience. Which time period probably depends on which actors are available and how cheap they are. I'm not sure cameo appearances count as film contact options for the apocalypse generation cast. Cameos don't count for actors in the mcu.

I doubt the time period will depend on what cameos they can get as that just makes it sound like they are depending on the X-Men and i very much doubt thats the case.

According to kinberg Xavier is most certainly involved and a rumour a while ago said Storm was involved which could still possibly be true, but other then that i personally doubt josh boone will want the movie to be full of X-Men cameos just to sell his movie.

Yes since it's almost certinly going to be set in 1980's/1990's with Mcavoy as Xavier.

I don't think it will be full of cameos but I think one or two X-Men from the previous movies besides Xavier may make a guest appearance as either fellow students or teachers.

I'm skeptical of it happening. If the movie takes place in modern times and they bring back Ellen Page, it would work, although I don't think the audience would care and it would probably insult the hardcore fans.

That being said, the hardcore fans want to make sure, whatever they do, it works out with Ilyana being Colossus's younger sister.

Boone seems like a hardcore fan so I think he would attempt to honor the character relations of the comics if he can.

I imagine doing the characters and team dynamic right is the main goal rather then worrying about relations since whether they acknowledge colossus or not it won't make or break the movie

Not at all. There's no reason to set X-Men 7 in the past, so putting a member of the very popular OT cast as headmaster makes a lot of sense. Kelsey Grammar's Beast would be another solid choice, and you wouldn't have him complaining about the make up.

Well that doesn't explain why he would be headmaster and Xavier wouldn't be.

And any events that happen in Logan won't count, at least not quite yet anyway.

some are forgetting it's been confirmed by Kinberg that Xavier is In the film.

SInce Patrick Stewart says logan is probally his last film as xavier,and remember he let it slip he was In logan far sooner than filmmakers wanted to reveal,it's almost certinly James Mcavoy playing Xavier.don't forget the scooper which said Mcavoy would be xavier has been right so far on how fox and boone are looking at for new mutants and who would appear In film.

Boone may want to do it like it was in early issues of new mutants with Xavier as the teacher to new mutants.If the alexandra Shipp appearing as storm is true it could be a cameo or storm has to help get new mutants out of trouble.

The X-Men themselves teaching students at school was more invention of first X-Men film.untill that it was xavier to X-Men and new mutants,Magneto while Xavier was in outer space with new mutants for a time,and banshee and emma frost with generation X.Cable in final issues of new mutants could also fit teacher.

Now hopefully we can get a bump of star power with Rose Byrne as Moira since she taught New Mutants and is Wolfsbane step mother.


Magik & Wolfsbane actors basically did all but confirm so we're all good as well with Nate Wolf

Only disappointed in no Karma IDC of she wasn't in the early run that often but she was there in the Graphic Novel Origin book and Asia a big market get a Asian on the dam team

Hopefully they cast the minorities properly but this is basically a prequel to X-Men 90's

the report had all but been confirmed.Some just want it in present day to tie in with deadpool and have TNW in it.

If the plan still is to do another full X-Men film with apocalypse cast and any FC cast members they can get after this film,deadpool 2,and possibly Gambit if it gets made but before Deadpool III which introduces X-force then storm may be in this film In part to help do for her what apocalypse did for jean and cyclops.and as you said she can fill the void stevie hunter had in comics.

I have my doudts that moira will be in film much less that she will have
adopted Rahne.

With Cannonball,Magik,SUnspot,woflsbane,and Mirage that is enough for them to follow and that's not counting warlock who boone confirmed is in film as well as lockheed according to leaked video is in film as well.

here is reality.studios don't care what fans think.

Paramount sure doesn't care that many die hard trekkers don't care for nu-trek or kelvenverse trek.nor does CBS care about fans complaning about having to sign up for new streaming service.

WB is classic example of not caring what people want.

marvel sure doesn't care if some don't like what they see from Spider-man homecoming.

Fox also will do what they and their prodicers and directors want to do with X-Men.On one hand they dismissed those wanting complete reboot.and they didn't care if some didn't like erasing the original trilogy orjust X-Men/X2 so they could do films with FC cast and ignore the original trilogy,which is exactly why they did the time travel "reboot" In DOfp,and if Fox decedes to turn X-men franchise into deadpool,New mutants,and X-force franchise with X-Men characters as supporting characters they won't care what anyone thinks.

1:They are using X-Men to help bring attention to new mutants or 2:they are having new Mutants as primary non-Deadpool part of franchise

a new mutants trilogy is poentelly cheaper for fox.they only have to reneograte with Mcavoy.new cast is cheaper than having to reneograte with lawrence,Fashbender,and Hoult.They can always if they chooce use the remaining 2 film opotions they have on apocalypse cast for new mutants films.A major factor in DOFP costing 200 million or more was getting original cast back.

well a trade said fox was optimistic on getting the first class stars back.however after recent comments fox may not ever want her back.and really exactly who wants her back.I doudt even MCU fans would want her.
at least Zoe Saldana doesn't threw a fir on wearing the makeup.Lawrence in that interview was more anti-X-men than halle Berry ever was in 2003/2004

If this is really being called X-men:New Mutants that suggests new mutants is closest they will get to doing followup to first class trilogy.

Xavier is only one needed for new mutants and another outright full X-Men film if it happens.

I'd argue mystique was always going to have a big role no matter who played her so any added exposure is just in the heads of the viewer.

Its almost like many thought mystique was going to be pushed into the background after the backstory and relationships they built up with her in FC.

I wanted her as Captain Marvel... MCU should cast her, maybe as Spider Woman, the more chances we get here out of the x-Men films, the better. I don't want to see Mystique barking orders to Cyclops and company, that they are the X-Men. It was cringe-worthy enough in the Apocalypse movie.

there was nothing cringe-worthy about it. It was a great development for the character and made a lot of sense universe-wise. Many people here do not seem to have understand what "Days of Future Past" was all about...
