The New New Avengers

I think it's going to be a street level team obviously, but why? Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Moon Knight take care of the majority of the street level threats in the Marvel universe by themselves.

That's kind of like someone saying "Spider-Man takes care of the street crime by himself", before Daredevil and Moon Knight were created.

I doubt that. Most people who read New Avengers were Avengers fans before the fact that they started picking it up. Despite comic book movies popularity, there's not really been a huge insurgence of new readers, which is why Marvel and DC both try new gimmicks to get new readers attention.

New Avengers had better sales than the Avengers v3 did towards the end of its run and its due in part bc of a brand new set of fans picking it up. I was one of them. It served its purpose by bringing something new to the table. With that said, I hope they find a way to make it relevant and not simply feel redundant light of the other 2 titles. It hasnt served much of a purpose in a while and I dont want this to be a title just for the sake of releasing a title

Well none of them are "necessary", of course. It's really no different than having 3 X-Men titles. Or Batman having his billion books, Wolverine his billion books, etc.

It doesnt make it right though. Dont get me started on the X-men. AXM should have been cancled when Whedon left. The line contains alot of redundant titles without much direction or purpose. Sales for alot of them have been down as a result. Its in massive need of an overhaul. I hope Avengers doesnt fall into the same trap the X-line has.

I'm actually more interested in this team than the announced Avengers team so far. I was a big New Avengers fan and liked that cast. I wish Cap and Iron Man could be on the team, but whatever. The Wolverine/Luke/Spider-Man trio was an interesting show that really grew on me (even though I hated the idea of Wolverine being on the team at first). So I'm curious about this one.

The Avengers will likely be good but I'm less interested. Too old school for me, but I'm planning on giving it a fair shot.

And who knows, maybe the next issue of Wolverine: Weapon X will actually be about Kitty Pryde...and not feature Wolverine at all.

I really like her costume. It's got a nice clean look, effective contrast of blue and white.

I know this isn't going to happen (Bendis and all), but to round out this New New Team, I would put 1 powerhouse on. My nomination would be Beta Ray Bill, if only because his appearances are so few and far between.

I was really hoping he'd become a regular on SWORD, but now that that's done, I'd prefer to see him maybe go out to one of the cosmic series. I've always preferred seeing Bill out in space, kicking ass. Plus, unless he and Thor are teaming up, it always feels a bit awkward to me to have them both kicking around Earth.

I haven't picked up an Avengers book since I bought New Avengers #1 read it and never looked back.I was willing to try Slott's Mighty but money is tight so I passed.Depending on the roster I'll get Secret Avengers.But I have zero interest in Bendis written Avengers no matter how classic the team might seem at first glance.
