This may be a stupid question but if Pre (by his own will) and post crisis (with the Legion) Superman could time travel why hasn't he ever thought about time traveling to the point where Kyrpton blows up and takes his parents back with him to Earth in the present day. That way his ship still lands in Smaville and he is still raised by the Kents and becomes Superman but in the same he now has his real parents with him in the future as well.

I don't believe Superman could time travel by his own will pre-crisis. That was just some crazy s**t he did in the movie....like that cellophane S he threw at that big dude. I mean, wtf.

As far as Time Travel, that's not the way it really works. Some things simply have to happen. Had he done that, they probably would have died of kryptonite poison when they made it to Earth or something. Some events simply have to happen. Only through some seriously out there means can such events be changed.

I dunno, I could swear that I've seen scans of some Pre-Crisis comics with Superman blasting off into the timestream under his own power. Like some Legion-related threat pops up in modern day, so Superman decides that he needs to ask the Legion about it, and then just takes off to visit them.

But yeah, even then, I imagine writers would come up with some inadequately explained reasoning for why Superman doesn't go back and rescue some Kryptonians.

An awesome example of this is Booster Gold's series that came out right after 52. He tried to fix certain things in the timeline, like Barbara Gordon getting shot, but found out he couldn't, no matter how many times he tried.

Yeah, the DCU/nU definitely seems to have the whole predestination thing going on. Time travel doesn't affect things because things only happen because the way they happen because that's the way they happened.

Eg, Bruce being lost in time.

What rule? That's just the way it was. Their identities were public. Ms. Jupiter was making money off of her Superheroing, and she pushed her daughter to do the same. That other chick, I don't know if that's what she was doing, but she also was public, hence the crazy lesbian hater killing her and her lover.

I just find it a little weird that the female heroes specifically are never shown with masks. I know Adrian wore a mask back in the day before he went public, but did the ladies ever have masks?
