I'm going to go ahead and guess that we get a True Detective sketch with Taran Killam playing McConaughey.
Has he hosted before?
But Rock didn't do any impressions last night... So I'm not sure what that has to do with anything.
It comes down to this, Chris Rock is good at one thing: Being Chris Rock. Which doesn't make him very versatile when it comes to sketch comedy. He's never been talented when it comes to sketch comedy. He's good at regurgitating his act under the guise of a sketch. Unfortunately, that's not exactly the platform of SNL.
Last night was painful...But the audience didn't seem very loose either. Even during the cold open it seemed as though the audience wasn't sure when or what to laugh at... Then, factor in Rock's monologue about subjects that are still very fresh in the minds of not just Americans, but Bostonian's and New Yorker's alike, there's bound to be some definite lulls.
Nearly everything that made laugh last night was a previously recorded bit: The bank heist and The Taylor Swift-vertigo thing.
Hosted in 89 and 92.
Ah. In those past two hosting duties, was there a Cheers sketch in one of them?
First half of the show was funny. 2nd half was ok. That's pretty typical of SNL though, it's usually front loaded.
With Horrible Bosses 2 opening next week you'd think they would have gotten Jason Sudeikis or Charlie Day.
Sudeikis especially. He hasn't been back since he left.
Or even Kevin Spacey. He's overdue to host again.

She hasn't aged well.

I think right after The Mask was released on DVD she celebrated the occasion by opening the Ark of the Covenant.![]()
Harsh, but I can't stand her so I don't even care.I think right after The Mask was released on DVD she celebrated the occasion by opening the Ark of the Covenant.![]()
