Peyton Reed and Adam McKay are supposed to be big Marvel comic fans which is why I thought they might add a extra comic character when they joined the production.

Even a obscure property like Guardians Of The Galaxy had some lesser known comic characters throughout the film.

Who knows maybe Gregg Turkington has a cameo role as Egghead in the 60's prologue or something but it does seem a little weird to make a Marvel movie and not use a few more comic characters.

It may be a bit of stretch but TI's character is named Dave.

It's a stretch, but that could be possible. Apparently he's part of Scott lang's ragtag gang, and David Cannon was a petty thief. I doubt they'd have any plans for him outside of just a cool reference though (but I'd love to be wrong!)

For a Marvel Studios movie, this film sure has a lot of original characters. There hasn't been that many original characters in the MCU since....well Agents of SHIELD.

The first Thor was a little more heavy on original characters (Thor with Selvig and Darcy). I was going to say Iron Man as well, but I actually hadn't realized Happy Hogan wasn't original (yeah, I'm a bad Iron Man fan), so that just really leaves Coulson. Thor, of course, also had Coulson.

So apparently a new guy has been cast as Castillo. That's somewhat surprising. I figured when it wasn't Pena, he wouldn't be included at all.

Selvig, Darcy and Coulson we've seen in the MCU on multiple occasions already. There's no guarantee we'll see any of these original Ant Man characters elsewhere outside of maybe Judy Greer's character.

And there was no guarantee you were going to see any of those three again when their movies came out, too. I'm not sure what's to stop these guys from making reappearances like they did.

Particularly, if the plan is for Hope to actually be a hero and not just have her surname be a bit of cute fanservice, as well as Scott deciding to continue with the small-sized heroics.

Pena seemed to of been cast very early and his role was said to be very important. In the leaked set pics he was wearing a Pym Technologies securities badge.

Perhaps he has ties Castillo.

Eh, there's never any guarantees. We simply don't know. We also haven't seen Darcy outside of Thor movies either.

I really hope that Michael Pena isnt just playing on of Lang's convict friends. Great actor that deserves more than just that limited role.

I could easily see that being the case. I love T.I. so I hope whatever role he does have is a substantial one.

Especially if "Dave" is Dave Cannon, selling out Scott and trying to run off with Hope. (who would replace Janet as the object of his obsession) They could relegate his powers to a suit designed by Pym/Cross, or they could wait and have him be an Inhuman, and get his powers later on, after he meets up with Donnie/Blizzard.

I'm surprised AoU has gotten a couple posters and Ant-Man has nothing yet, except some stills. Hopefully we get something before the year is out. They don't really need to build AoU, they need to focus on this.
