I had this dream last night that they put Ant-Man on TV and while I was watching, I was like: Why are they putting Ant-Man on TV before its even out yet? This is nuts! Then the film just stopped after a half hour. I said: Wow that was awesome! talk about a way to tease people into seeing the movie!

Weird! :)

I just can't seem to get too hyped for this movie. Has there been any word about whether or not this'll tie into the great MCU? Is Rudd gonna pop up in Civil War or Infinity War?

I think the idea is that all hype is going towards AoU for now, but probably by mid May that'll switch to hyping Ant-Man, I trust Marvel, they'll get ya there.

Of course the characters from this movie will show up in others. This is the MCU

Feige said he has plans for Ant-Man post solo movie and Evangeline Lilly said she has plans with Marvel in the future.

There is also going to be some of the history of the MCU filled in via Hank Pym's past.

There's a rumour that Lang will break Black Widow out of prison in Civil War

I'm not buying the rumors of Thunderbolt Ross showing up in the post-credits.

In fact, I have my doubts that General Ross or any other Hulk character will return before Avengers: IW Part 2.

Ross would be a wonderful character to use for Civil War. He doesn't need to be exclusively focused on The Hulk. I can imagine that reigning all the superheroes in and holding them accountable and using their power for military purposes would appeal to Thunderbolt. It's a natural fit, honestly.

I think once the AOU hype train is over, Ant-Man will get more marketing focus and we will see more of what this film has to offer. I hope the next trailer we get is better crafted. That teaser left a lot to be desired.

We should expect it online pretty soon right?

I'd imagine we'll get a new trailer within the next two weeks

I agree that Civil War would be an excellent fit for Thunderbolt Ross. I hope it's William Hurt though. They've already given us an interesting moment between Stark and Ross during the TIH post-credit scene... would love to expand on that uneasy alliance.

More likely to see Talbot from Agent's Of Shield take his antagonistic military role to the movies then see Hurt return I imagine.

It will depend on Adrian Pasdar's schedule as I remember reading somewhere that he's signed on to do an TV pilot.

I'm sure he'd rather jump into a blockbuster movie than some TV pilot if given the chance.

Is Marvel making a mistake in withholding the full trailer until after AOU? While I understand that they don't want to take any spotlights away from Avengers, I think Ant-Man needs much more public awareness due to the fact that it's a new franchise and it's based on a relatively-unknown property (according to GA), so it needs to establish foothold in the marketing much earlier. I hope it won't be too late when they finally decided to roll out the full marketing for this movie.

They probably should be a bit worried about Schumer's 'Trainwreck' pulling an upset if it pulls in the Feig-Bridesmaid number plus her comedy fans. Plus Ted 2 will still be in theaters.

I don't know if there's much marketing could have done to avoid it.

Once AoU hits the public will be well aware of antman. I imagine a new trailer will be attached to every copy of AoU.

They can attach a after credits scene for Ant-Man with AoU which will generate some more buzz.
