I feel like they should attach an after credits scene with Peter Parker to Ant-Man to get more buzz.

They probably should be a bit worried about Schumer's 'Trainwreck' pulling an upset if it pulls in the Feig-Bridesmaid number plus her comedy fans. Plus Ted 2 will still be in theaters.

I don't know if there's much marketing could have done to avoid it.

I don't either. The Judd Apatow brand is not what it once was. I was his biggest fanboy 05-08 but these days his movies have gotten overly long and self indulgent. Early reviews are saying the same thing about Trainwreck that they've been saying about Apatow for years, and this movie is going tone a dud.

The few early reviews I saw said it was good(bad movies usually don't screen months in advance at major festivals). Plus, Schumer is the one selling it and she's one of the hottest comedians around.

I think you guys are underestimating Schumer the same way Bridesmaids surprised.

But marvel isn't worried at all. And schumer isn't that big, most ppl I know don't really like or even know who she is(I'm 22, her demo)

The movie might do ok numbers but coming off AoU most ppl with want another marvel movie, and the same ppl who like schumer I can bet love paul Rudd way more. Rudd star will bring in the ppl that train wreck is going after.

I feel like Ant-Man NEEDS to be a different kind of Marvel film - maybe more of a "funny" adventure, a la "The Mummy" 1999 film (not the sequels, though... ugh). I personally didn't care for the tone of "The Mummy" when I first saw it, but lots of people loved it and it was a huge BO and home-release hit. It had more of a "pulp/comedy" feel to the fantasy action genre film.

If Ant-Man tries to offer the same thing that the Avengers offer, I feel like it will especially suffer from comparison - not only to the recently released AAoU, but all of the previous MCU hits that came before it - and will have folks complaining that it's yet ANOTHER superhero origin story on the big screen.

There is also the full interview on EW. Paul Rudd is hilarious and I think he is gonna portray Scott Lang well. Scott is sort of an everyman hero and Rudd gives off that vibe

Yellowjacket looks pretty awesome. Lost amongst all of the Daredevil news, AoU news, and AoS news is Ant-Man, which I think is going to be pretty fun. I'm looking at April 21st as the day we get a new trailer.
