steal the Ant-Man suit but Pym knowingly allows him to as a test sort of like how he allowed him to steal it in the comics to see what he would do with it.

Yellowjacket has blades on the end of his mechanical arm things from the looks of it.

When we first meet Lang, he is in prison for stealing from the CEO of a company that was itself stealing from its employees. “There’s a prison fight and you’ve got to buy Paul in that role,” says Reed. Lang longs to go straight—he has a young daughter he wants to build a relationship with—but when he leaves the big house, he ends up nabbing Pym’s Ant-Man suit. Was he set up? “There might be stuff going on that Scott doesn’t know about that’s a lot bigger than him,” Reed says.

I feel like the plot is not as straight forward as it seems. Pym seems to have a hidden agenda. I just don't think he wants Lang to steal the suit so he he can just take down Yellow Jacket. I dunno, I'm thinking Marvel might pull something on us and have Pym be the actual villain. Maybe I'm just over thinking lol

They better not do that. It would be the ultimate slap in the face to Pym fans. It's not enough that he is sidelined, now they would also make him the villain?

Pym may not be a villain, but he may have some selfish ulterior motives regarding his goals.

I'd have to agree. While it would possibly be a great twist for non Pym fans it'd first suck for me personally as a Pym fan myself and second it'd be slightly reminiscent to another Shyamalan MCU film fanboys adore so much.

I'd have to agree. While it would possibly be a great twist for non Pym fans it'd first suck for me personally as a Pym fan myself and second it'd be slightly reminiscent to another Shyamalan MCU film fanboys adore so much.

It would also be like the first Mission: Impossible film to me. I was a fan of the TV series and Jim Phelps was always the incorruptible hero of the show. Then in the film, the first thing they do is make him the villain who has sold out because he hasn't had enough recognition etc, as if he were doing these missions for ulterior motives and not simply out of a sense of being a good man.

As soon as Phelps was revealed as the villain, it took me out of the movie. Same with IM3 where Mandarin was revealed to only be an actor and not a real character. If Pym is revealed to be a villain I will immediately lose interest at that point.

And people can say "does Pym really have any fans?" like they did with the Mandarin, and say how all these Pym fans have crawled out of the woodwork, but he has always had many supporters. I don't even like the idea of Pym being an old man, but taking even his heroic status away from him would be a complete insult.

The only way I will ever accept Pym being the villain is if he is eventually shown to be Skrull.
If not, get ready for a tantrum the likes of which this site has never seen.. and that is saying something.

Maybe if Marvel regain Spider-Man, they'll have Miles Morales as the main Spider-Man, and Peter Parker will turn out to be the villain.

They are saving that Superior Spider-Man plot for a future movie, you know they're just itching to do it.

On a more positive topic, we know that Howard Stark is in this movie, but what about a young Obadiah Stane? Wouldn't it be good to have him show up in the past? Of course, Corey Stoll could look like a young Stane but he isn't.

Maybe when it talks about Lang being set up, he was set up by Darren Cross. Perhaps this CEO who is stealing from his employees is Cross, and Lang works for CTE, which is either a subsidiary of Pym Technologies or more likely a rival company. Hopefully it is the case that Pym has been watching Lang as he's worked for Cross and was unfairly imprisoned and has seen that he is a good and trust-worthy man.

Yeah I wish Stane was still around. Jeff Bridges is too good to get rid of in the first movie.
