Anyone reading the new Ant-Man comic?

Some classic Scott Lang characters I hoped would make an a appearance in the comic showed up

The return of the Cross family and their company Cross Technologies Enterprises!

Augustine Cross is trying to resurrect his father Darren Cross. Augustine kidnapped Dr. Erica Sondheim like his father did to help him do it.

Crossfire kidnapped Cassie on behalf of his cousin as well.

The issue also featured a funny fight between Scott and Taskmaster. Scott kept going on about how Taskmaster was his arch-enemy while Taskmaster said he was a minor annoyance and not even the main target of their encounters :funny:

Unlikely since most of the actors in the cast are playing original characters.

Sorry, I should of put characters I wanted to show up in the 'comic' in there as to not confuse people that I was talking about the movie.

*fixed it now ;)

Ant-Man using ants to make a giant ant fist reminded me of Green Lantern.

Someone on IMDB says that Martin Donovan could be a recast Thunderbolt Ross.

Or '60s era with Peggy and Hank and Howard maybe.

I read the Ant-Man Infinite – Scott Lang: Small Time prequel comic

Potential movie spoilers
The story tells how Scott Lang ended up in prison.

Firstly the prison is San Quentin so anyone hoping Lang was in Seagate with Trevor Slattery, Luke Cage or Justin Hammer is out of luck.

We see Lang is a jail yard fight cheered on by his cell mate Luis played by Michael Peña.

We flashback to Lang working at a high tech Silicon Valley company called Vistacorp where he is a Electrical Engineer.

Lang updates the company payment system after discovering it has been over charging customers for services. Lang's boss and Vistacorp CEO Geoff Zorick is angry at him (he obviously knows he is ripping off the customers).

Lang tries to blow the whistle in the illegal practises but is fired and slandered in the newspaper as a disgruntled former employee trying to extort money from Vistacorp.

Even though Scott and his wife Maggie have a baby on the way Scott can't let it go. Scott plans to get revenge by breaking in to his former workplace, hacking the computer servers and disturbing the Vistacorp board members money back to the customers they ripped off. ]

Lang goes a little too far though by breaking into his former Boss house and stealing his belongings as well as crashing his Bentley into his swimming pool which leads to him getting arrested. As we saw at the beginning of the story this is how he ended up in prison for five years.

Does anyone else think maybe Marvel screwed the pooch with releasing it so close to AoU? Usually they have more of a buffer zone between the films and it really allows the marketing folks to do their jobs. I know 3 months or so seems like a long time but take into consideration AoU will probably have a solid 2 month run or longer and they usually do a staggered release around the world. Generally the marketing blitz goes into full effect a month before release. Hopefully it works and Ant-Man is able to harness some of the power of AoU but it could also blow up in their face. Just a thought I had

I think we'll be so amped up from AOU we'll be fiending for more MCU awesomeness...oh look at that, ANT MAN IN JULY! Perfect cure! Its gonna be a blast, I know it.

When the full trailer comes out, thats when we'll know the kind of movie itll be. We've only seen a little bit of it. I thought it looked really cool though. I think Ant-Man might be the most family friendly MCU film yet too. A Father/mentor/student/daughters story.

I'm totally amped up about it but I wonder how the GA will react. I'm hoping it's positive and the GA will love it, but I'm just a tad worried that the GA will still be a little apprehensive about going to see it. But you are right, I'm sure the Marvel marketing geniuses know exactly how to get people in the seats and I'm sure they will have a trailer attached to AoU and maybe we even get lucky and one of the stingers hypes up the movie too

Thoughts anyone?

There are only three big live action Superhero films this year are all Marvel and only two of them are Marvel Studio films which helps Ant-Man.

I don't think we will have to worry about Ant-Man marketing. After The Avengers AOU comes out the full Disney/Marvel marketing machine will be on Ant-Man. Three months is ample time to promote a movie.

If Avengers AOU is even bigger than the first film (Box Office/Critical acclaim, ect) then that could very well boost anticipation for Marvel's next film Ant-Man.

Just think how far an end credit scene with Ant Man will go to help get people ready for it. Or some mention of Pym in the movie. Esp if AOU is a huge hit.

when will the marketing build up again for Ant-Man? Are they waiting until May or June?

Im hoping for a nice full trailer with AOU. Maybe we'll get it a little earlier online

I would make sense for Scott Lang to appear in Civil War as he is one of the heroes who people don't know AND he has a family he would want to be kept safe
