The Official Avengers Thread (Heroic Age Bendis/JRJR) - Part 1

they're making a new ongoing title to coincide with the movie. It's a 616 title, just using the team from the movie. Banner's on there.

The Hulk has no business being an Avenger. The only reason anyone considers him for the team is because he happened to be there for like an issue and a half right at the beginning. If not for that, people would look at him and be like, "This guy? As an Avenger? ... This guy?"

really? I thought that came a little bit after. I didn't read Titans, so I'll trust you on that.
Dick led the Titans since way back in his Robin days. He's basically always been their leader.

I say that about Wolverine to this day. Hulk at least has the historical value of being one of the first Avengers. And he actually qualifies as one of the heroes on the planet Earth with the greatest quantity of might.

Wolverine's oddly likable in Wolverine and the X-Men. It's strange seeing him be earnest and almost kind of noble again.

Hulk is long overdue being an Avenger again. They missed a golden opportunity during The Professor days to put him back on the team. Infinity Gauntlet proved he could fall in line but still be a pain in the neck. As long as it's all about kicking ass at the end of the day, he'd be satisfied. Knowing Marvel, sadly, Deadpool will be an Avenger before Bruce again.

And I'm not counting this new Bendis book. It's a quick sell to capitalize the movie nothing more, there's no frigging creativity behind it. He's just gonna show up out of the blue and join the team.

Eh, I guess I'd be okay with it if the Hulk isn't just a monosyllabic idiot. He's all right in the cartoon, so I suppose it could be done in the comics too.

He read a preview.

For all he knows however he could kill the Easter Bunny by the end of the issue.

If Aaron sticks with where he seems to be going, then it's a welcome return to what Logan once was. He used to be a noble man (with a little samurai influence) and his beserker side was something that he held in check or used when a loved one or friend was in danger. Somewhere along the line he became a stab happy idiot.

True. But he's like really likable. I almost don't even mind how little sense it makes for him to be the one reopening the school, the way that preview went...

He's named the school after Jean too. He knows that's she's coming back one day and that'll probably help get him in her pants. That Logan....always a few steps ahead.:whatever:

I think it would be great for Jean to come back and tell both Logan and Cyclops that they're a bunch of jackass idiots.

Why does everybody have a problem with the name? I think it's fitting. Chick meant a lot to him....to all of them really.

I like it. It's a dick move coming from Wolverine, but Wolverine's still kind of a dick even when he's likable, so it works.

Gonna be awkward when she comes back, though.

I don't have a problem with it, I was just messing around. I think it's half in her honor and half a big F.U. to Scott.

Supposedly, the whole situation between Logan and Scott is amicable. That's what they're telling everyone.

But yeah, you're probably right. :D

I was at least thankful that Aaron ended Schism on an amicable note, I was afraid there was going to be this bitter, split rivalry between the two which we've seen so.many.times. Still, it is redundant to see the x-men broken apart yet again.

Well, with a title like Schism, you can't say you didn't know it was coming. At least it looks like the books are benefiting from the creative change-ups resulting from it.

Having one writer, regardless of how good or bad that writer may happen to be, on three different Avenger titles doesn't seem like a very good idea to me.

And with the writer in question, just having him on one isn't the best idea:o

His time is over, plain and simple, he's not good enough on Avengers to deserve this long.
