I heard a lot of Bats comics writers dissed Burton's movies. That true?

Batman and Robin was the last Batman movie that Bob saw before he died. Karma anyone??

Make of this what you will.

Winning posts of the day.

I'm with your Mum on that. Plenty of parents had a prob with Returns because of that big backlash it got. Thanks to that we got the camp Schumacher movies.

My God. There was a time when a movie on VHS cost $24.98.

And just the movie, at that. No behind the scenes featurettes, no commentary, nothing. Just movie.

I am old enough to remember when video rentals were a viable business. The excitement of being able to watch a movie that was only on the big screen about two years ago, at home on your tiny square television.

What's really crazy is that the first copy of this that I had wasn't even VHS, it was laserdisc.

The first copy of it I "owned" was one I taped from television. I think it was shown at Christmas regularly over the mid 90s.

I still have my VHS copy. I live too much in my nostalgia that I refuse to ever give it up. I love the old adverts at the beginning. Trailers for Millennium, Licence To Kill, I'm Gonna Get You Sucka, Dead Calm, and Young Einstein. Charming adverts for computers like the Commodore Amiga.
Too bad my last VHS player knackered some 8 years ago, but B89 was the only video I refused to give up.
My nana would often try hiding it from me when I was a kid because as soon as the film finished, I'd rewind it to the start and watch it all over again.
But at first, I used to rent the film from this cosy little shop in my town before getting my mother to buy it. Good times :)

I remember my VHS copy having the Batman diet coke commercial included, was great :D.

But I have up ALL of my VHS tapes long time ago, probably when I graduated high school so maybe 10 years ago.

I remember the movie when I was three and I enjoyed it as a kid when my older brother bought the movie home.

I have my VHS copy, although half of the case is ripped off from over-use.

I remember recording Batman Returns (and probably Batman 89) on VHS with commercials and whatnot.

I love the Diet Coke commercial that plays before the B89 VHS, lol.

"Just for the taste of it....Diet Coke. Ahhhhh"

My Batman Returns tape long since tangled up on me, but I still keep it for nostalgia purposes.

I can't tell you how many times I saw this opening:

The Warner Bros. Home Video opening! Thank you, I haven't heard/seen that in sooooooooo long.

Black monolith and a Batsymbol... you don't need names, a title, or anything else.

The opening title sequence of B89 is perfect. Elfman's theme builds as we travel through a dark, stone maze that ends with the visage of the iconic Batsymbol.
