Eh, Floyd should be given a year off before they took him off #1. We all know he ain't staying retired. :o Anyway, I don't think Roman is the #1 p4p guy but it is what it is. He's only holding it for Ward when he gets his belts back. In 10 years, Ward will be kicking himself on how he wasted all of his freakin time disputing over BS.

If Kovalev fight's and beat's Stevenson within the next year and Floyd doesn't come back then he'll be #1 I guess.

****'s about to go down in the light heavyweight division (finally). And for all we know Beterbiev might turn out to be the best of the lot.

I don't think people realize how much of a beast Beterbiev is.

Who is 30 years of age. Someone else who started late in his career. He wants' the big fight's he better get them sharpish. Not every boxer is like a Mayweather or Hopkins.

Beterbiev actually beat Kovalev twice in the amateurs. Dude is the truth and is like that russian on the Rocky movies. I think if he fought Kovalev again, the results will be the same even though Kovalev is begging for the fight.

I know the guy is a monster but amateur bout's say nothing about fight's in the pro ranks. Throughout history fighter have lost to someone in the amateurs only to go and beat them in the pro ranks.

Maybe I'm just a prisoner of the moment but Beterbiev comes off cold and emotionless and at the same time showing great fundamentals. I wouldn't be surprised if he stopped Kovalev.

Id like Wlad Klitshcko to be no. 1 to be honest. Guy has dominated his division for a lot of years now. If only Ward has been active, he would have been an easy no. 1.

Regarding the Floyd fight, still havent watched it. First Floyd fight I havent watched in PPV since Oscar.

Sure, but for every one of those examples there is also something like Vernon Forrest vs Shane Mosley. Sugar Shane wanted to avenge his amateur losses and took his first two pro losses in the process.

Hopefully, Kovalev gets the chance to spark out Stevenson in a few months, and then we get to see him against Beterbiev no later than next summer.

I hear Roy Jones Jr is fighting Enzo Macrinelli n Moscow in a couple of months.

Lucas Matthyse got KO'd! :wow:

Boxing should really do something about these guys gaining 20 lbs over night. Postol looked way bigger than Lucas last night and I'm not talking about just height. This fight should not have taken place. I honestly believe that is what killed Sergio Martinez's career when fighting JCC Jr. He was fighting a freakin cruiserweight and wasn't the same after that fight.

I'll have to watch the highlights but that was poor. He was also looking to fight Pacman as well.

He was but I doubt Arum lets anyone outside of Top Rank fight Pacman.

Can't believe my boy Lucas got handled like that. Postol is the real deal, and now I've been hearing that he's one of the reasons Danny Garcia fled 140. Crawford vs. Postol should get made for next spring.

Might have a point about the weight, but I think the bigger issue was the height. Postol just hovered over him and Lucas couldn't do anything, IMO, strictly because of that. It's one thing to be big, it's another to actually fight big, and that's what Postol did all night.

Nope. Amir has been exposed as a glass chin fraud. Although I like him, he's not the future of boxing. He's a star now, one of the biggest in boxing but he's not on Floyd's level. I think Canelo, Deontay Wilder(thanks to careful matchmaking), GGG(same as Wilder)and Thurman(if he beats Porter in December)are the future of boxing.

The best active boxer in the world is fighting this weekend (Floyd is still retired right?). Chocolatito is going to bring it!

Oh and some other guy, Gennady something is also fighting.

But it's on PPV so I'll be missing this one also. Unless I can find a place to watch it for free.

edit

Putting this on PPV was stupid and ridiculous. It's going to bomb bad.

I don't know man. I thought it would bomb as well but GGG is really being pushed hard as the greatest fighter out right now. I think it will do 300,000 buys which would be great for his first ppv. But you never know though. I won't be buying it but I know people who are.
