You could tell just looking at him at the weigh-in that Rios was in no shape to fight. He's looked awful before, but his durability has always held up. I still would've never predicted a Bradley stoppage before the fight.

Can't wait for Cotto v Alvarez this week. I fancy Canelo to win but would like Cotto to do it.

Cotto has always been one of my favorite fighters, but I think it would be better for boxing if Canelo wins. I'm ready for these older fighters to pass the torch already.

ESPN showing a documentary on Holyfield chasing Tyson for a shot at the title. Good so far for boxing fans in here interested.

Always been a big Holyfield fan; my second favorite heavyweight champion after Smokin' Joe.
It's great seeing Evander getting some recognition.

Yeah this documentary has been good so far highlighting Holyfield's struggle to fight Tyson and proving he is great.

I like how ESPN is throwing our sport a bone in these 30 for 30's. "No Mas" and "Chasing Tyson" are probably the best boxing related things they've done in years.

I still can't believe Mills Lane didn't disqualify Tyson immediately after the first bite.

To be fair, I'm sure he was just as stunned as everyone else. There was really no precedent for that, and it was the biggest match at the time, so he was probably hesitant to just stop the whole thing that early. I always gave him credit for somewhat keeping order after that first bite.

That makes sense.
Make no mistake, I have the utmost respect for Mills Lane and wish refs today were more like him. He handled the bite as well as one possibly could barring an instant disqualification.

What does anyone think the outcome would of been had they fought in 91 as originally planned? D you see a second fight or different outcome?

Seeing that happen back in 97 had to be crazy.
I was quite young and watched both fights with my father. Holyfield winning was wonderful, but the second fight was just crazy. The best thing was people trying to make excuses for Tyson and how people were trying to pin it on the promoters, talking about how they should be giving money back, like it was their fault Tyson lost his mind. Jim Gray almost got beat up.

I was too young to be following boxing at the time but as someone looking back, I would say Holyfield would've always had a good chance of beating Tyson.
A lot of Tyson fans now try to argue that Tyson was past his prime when he finally fought Holyfield, but like the documentary said, Evander was the fighter that was considered shot going in.

I watched every Tyson pro fight except Larry Sims since no footage exist as well as some of his amateur fights. IMO, Tyson developed bad boxing habits after he left Rooney.

That's a wildly held belief by most people. After he left Rooney, the disciplinary side of his training went out the window.

Watching old footage of Tyson training and he was like a well-oiled machine. He did an incredible amount of sparring. That's how he stayed sharp between fights. Sometimes he would spar with no headgear while the other guy wore one. Believe it or not but Oliver McCall was a good sparring partner for him because he was able to absorb the punishment where others couldn't.

Yeah Tyson picking up bad habits is what I think contributed to his downfall in the ring, had he stayed focus he proably would of never lost a fight.

Although he clearly had other issues that led to his decline, Tyson also fell into the trap a lot of fighters fall into; he fell in love with his power and began to neglect his technique.
Also, I don't think sparring without headgear is a really smart thing to do. You might look tough but with all the sparring fighters do in camp, you're just asking to shorter your career doing that.

Yeah, but how many fighters are guilty of that as well? Tyson had deep-seeded emotional issues that really took a toll on him.
